Hi Paul, great tips in this video. I just used the same construction to create a nose protector (10mm EVA foam with white rubber on top) but I used a new clear contact adhesive - Selleys Kwik Grip Crystal Clear Contact Adhesive. I'm sure Mark will like it.

Cheers Paul & Mark, super useful. A great one for the over 40s! My knee feels the big jumps since an operation a few years back, this'll help loads. I might even do the whole back area as one big pad, unless there's a good reason not to? Keep them coming mate, love your videos.

Cool Ben glad you found the video useful. I used the board the other day and it’s like floating on a cloud it’s so comfortable ha! Yeah mate do the whole back in one big pad I can’t see why this wouldn’t work.

These videos are great. Now I know why my own board repair attempts were so shit! Could you do one on deck grip? Or non-slip, whatever. That’s what makes my old boards unusable now.
@windsurfer2 жыл бұрын
Glad you like the videos made. I’ll see what I can do on deck grip.

Thanks for the detailed video. How about double padding just around the heels areas? Also what are your thoughts about diamond vs square shaped pattern for Eva?
@windsurfer Жыл бұрын
Yeah you could tailor the double padding I guess it just adds complications. On the diamond or square…. The diamond is probably easier to slip your foot in and out of?
@manuwindsurfing Жыл бұрын
@@windsurfer Thanks yes a bit more complicated. I like the minimal aspect of it 😎 It seems that squares provide a more direct and non slippery feel over diamonds. From what I can tell, they also tend to wear better since the pattern. How did the board ride? Any issues with feet wedging into the straps as the foam gives away over rough terrain, jump landing and such?
@windsurfer Жыл бұрын
@@manuwindsurfing The board has been great. Very comfortable ride… my knees and ankles thank me. The experiment certainly worked.

I didn't know that windsurf boards were being made with with polyurethane, that's pretty interesting. Do they have a different feel? A friend was telling me that epoxy boards take about twice the time to make because of the vacuum/sandwich process. I guess that makes PU boards less expensive (maybe PU resins are also less expensive than epoxy resins?).
@windsurfer2 жыл бұрын
Yeah Doug I've found this board to have more flex & therefore more comfortable in chop. They are slightly heavier so are suited to higher wind sailing I think. Sorry I'm not sure about the resins & cost but I assume it's cheaper to make polyester boards?
