I have to repair my board, now I know how to do, thank you guy!

Geile Sache! 🤙🏼

Fantastic video. Very interesting. You mentioned turning the board upside down to prevent resin moving away from deck to much. I guess you tape the syringes to the deck and then flip it

Thanks, I'll try that!

Syringe 💉 .

Yeah, that is what we did in the 80’s which - I thought - is nowadays considered as not ideal way to repair soft spots - if you really want to go this way of repair you should use PU based self extracting glue of some sort ….

Great video! Do you think 20 ml on the shots is enough for a basic repair?
@derbastlermeinesvertrauens7533 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Hm that highly depends on how bad the damage is. A good control method is: If the resin comes out of a nearby hole, you are doing good.

Fantastic! would you describe exactly what these materials are?
@derbastlermeinesvertrauens7534 жыл бұрын
Hi Joe, I use epoxy resin and something that should be called "foaming agent" or similar in English...

Is it possible to use only polyurethane foam spray which enlarges and fills soft areas instead of using epoxy resin?
@derbastlermeinesvertrauens7533 жыл бұрын
Hi! If its really soft go for it. Massevely expanding foam could damage/deform the deck though so be carefull with it ;-)

Nice repair :) considering doing some repairs myself. And been looking at different repair methods. What is your opinion using polyurethane foam ? I heard if epoxy got injected into the eps foam a chemical heat reaction can happen. Melting your core? Any thoughts thanks for the video gives me strength drilling into my board 😂
@derbastlermeinesvertrauens7534 жыл бұрын
Haha just go for it;) Polyurethane could be better if the deck is really REALLY soft because of the bigger volume, that needs to be filled. I heard of chemical heat reactions, too, but for that to happen you need to use a LOT of bad quality resin. If you use that stuff, that makes the resin expand additionally , the risk is almost 0 if you ask me. Furthermore I think, that resin soaks into the foam better than polyurethane (better connection). Thats what I observed when I got rid of an old fin box recently.

boardlady.com/softdeck.htm No, no, big mistake! Replace the original material with the same or something similar. Epoxy injection will make it worse. Eva is the expert on board repairs. Other than that, your videos are good, but please consider Master Eva's advises. Great knowledge that should be passed on. boardlady.com/softdeckanalysis.htm and finally this here: boardlady.com/injection.htm

@derbastlermeinesvertrauens7534 жыл бұрын

Lol, funny soft deck panic 😂

Yay! I'm pretty new to windsurfing...How soft should the deck get before you recommend this procedure? I have a spot on my deck that depresses 1mm if I push really hard.
@derbastlermeinesvertrauens7534 жыл бұрын
Hi Charlie, Thats fine - If the area gets bigger than 5 cm and deeper 2 mm, go for it!

resin? shouldn't it be PU foam?
@derbastlermeinesvertrauens7532 жыл бұрын
PU foam works, too. If u manage to not blow up your board with it :D i never used something else than resin and it always worked :-)
