@@WindsurfFlorida This was my my old beginners board, which I'd never really got to grips with before getting rigid boards. I was going to get rid of it last summer, but thought I'd have one more go on a light wind day..... glad I held on to it now! And can paddle board on zero wind days🤙

Hiya, great vid - a couple of questions - did the board hamper your water start or was it the conditions & what pressure (psi) do you use on the board?
@DILLIGAF-e4rКүн бұрын
@@momagic8912 That is a very good question! It was mainly lack of wind and my lack of low wind water start technique that hampered the water start. Although a 6" thick inflatable board may look a handful to water start, it is no harder than a rigid board if the wind is enough. I normally inflate to ~17-18psi, but today the electric pump battery was low (I forgot to recharge it...🤦♂️), so I only pumped up to ~15psi with the hand pump. Didn't feel much different to normal, but reckon it would have flexed a bit if there had been any chop. You'll see mate on his IQ foil in Raw Pt2. He got about 3kts more max speed today, although the STX was planing slightly more than he was foil borne. I'm a big fan of the STX in low wind conditions!

Hi, great stuff.I have a question, I have the same STX, with the standard fins, is it considerably better with those you have? Thanks.

@@zdenekpavlis1274 Hey mate, that depends. If yr just starting out, then stick with the flimsy plastic ones. As you get faster and further back and in the harness, the back end will become twitchy.... that's when to invest in the 30cm glassfibre ones and ditch the centre fin. I got my fins from Decathlon, but not sure if they do them still, but should find them somewhere. It took me over two years to get in the footstraps on the STX.... so keep at it🤙

@@DILLIGAF-e4r Thanks, I have it now as a kind of a backup to RRD FireMove 135 - I started both footstraps only last year and it took me 4 years to get there :) Basically 4.5 years ago I started again after 20 or so years - before just no planing no harness on 80s stuff :). Btw. I find it easier to water start on hardboard than on this thick cruise ship / mind you I started water start also last year with low succes rate ;).

@@meh0354l It is mate; 9.5 on the Tabou is great, but not quite enough wind today, so dug out my old inflatable training board👍
