That landing was really smooth. I'm used to capturing planes approaching the airport from below for my Lanzarote KZbin channel. Seeing it 4K from the cockpit is a whole new experience - it's amazing to watch the runway approach from the pilot's point of view 😍

Excellent landing and video, one question, because of the winds, do you use the pedals (the rudder of the plane) for greater control? Or just the wings themselves?

It’s only below the 50ft above ground level that you try to « decrab » the airplane by applying a bit of rudder with your feet’s. You only do so when you have a crosswind on landing Thank you for your comment it means a lot !

I flew the MAX as well. Very stable from pitch-side. Can not compare it to the NG. I ask myself, why all Boeingpilots are giving permanent inputs to the controls? During my approach it was windy as well, but no input required after correctly trimmed.

Nice video, i have a couple of question about the Lam , heard that it actually deflects flight spoilers whenever you are flaps 30 and 40 , but is the deflection so small that we cant see it from the cabin or does it change with several factors such as the weight of the airplane so each landing is basically a different case?

to be honest it's a question I never asked myself, it's true that during landing we don't have the opportunity to look at the spoilers in activation because we have to look at the runway in front of us. What the FCOM says: At flap 30 or 40, the flight spoilers will raise slightly to reduce lift necessitating a higher AoA and hence nose attitude to give an "acceptable nose gear contact margin" So I think that yes we can see it during a landing and that it is very light, I went to search on youtube and you can find some landing videos that demonstrate well the system in use. And as for the weight, again I don't know but I didn't find answers in the books. I think that it would be logical that the system takes the weight into account. Agreed; the 737 Max should have been decommisioned world wide, and scrapped. Of course the almighty dollar was the deciding factor on that, not passenger safety.

Wow. That looked like a lot of terrifying work to keep the plane stable coming in for the landing. The pilot flying must have been mentally exhausted after that landing. (Just what it looks like to me from a non-pilot point of view being a casual on-looker.
