Man alive Kyle is brilliant! Just the right balance of enthusiasm with a ton of knowledge, love this guy, I've subbed this channel because of him. I'm doing a self taught level 2 Sommelier course just because I love wine so much and he's knocking this out of the ball park for me. Netflix or Amazon should give him a show.

This is actually a great comprehensive overview! Wine consumers often don't get the benefit of any generalizations to help them determine choices in the marketplace. Often it's the result of (expensive) experience in the purchasing of wines themselves and it is often the case that frustration sets in before a general sense of what the terroir is becomes obtained. This type of overview would be very helpful when looking through other regions such as burgundy, cote-de-rhone, and any other appellation in europe at the very least. As a consumer, information is key. The way they presented said information is both accurate and helpful and I would gladly appreciate more of the same.

Hi christel1857. Actually Malbec is indeed one of the allowable grapes in Bordeaux, and Carmenere as well! As a matter of fact, pre-phylloxera in the late 1800's a substantial part of Bordeaux was planted to Malbec and there are new plantings happening all the time. Thanks for watching! www.thewinecellarinsider.com/wine-topics/wine-educational-questions/guide-to-bordeaux-wine-grape-varieties-for-red-and-white-wine/

humm... Canelle de Fronsac... never heard of that one...same as cote de Fronsac... I'm afraid that those two do not exist. Funny thing though, canelle in French means cinnamon. Anyway, the second appellation is Bordeaux Côtes de Francs. And also : Petrus is not a Château. You just have to say Petrus, not château Petrus. Eventually I would be a bit picky and say that ctes de blaye/Bourg are a bit far west of saint Emilion to be named satellites.

there is NO malbec in the blend. A bordeaux is always a blend of cabernet sauv. , merlot, cabernet franc and petit verdot. If there is malbec in the blend it is not a part of the appellation.

Hey Matt, thanks for the feedback. We apologize for making you feel like a child after watching our video. The truth is that a strong majority of folks out there that wish they knew more about wine are also REALLY intimidated by it. Having a combined 50+ years in the wine business and speaking with some of these people, we've realized a few things when it comes to educating this demographic. We are making these videos with the wine amateur in mind, but hopefully providing enough of a base for people to grow off of. A stepping stone for those of you on your way to becoming wine experts!
