I didn't watch the movie but I feel like there should've been backup plans in case of failure, or at least unused cryopods. If the girl could've gone back to sleep then an engineer could too, the ship should wake them up to fix an issue. What if the ship itself gets damaged and needs fixed? Super common opinion, Passengers would've been so much better if it started with Aurora waking up and following her. Theyd still have a relationship and what not, eventually getting into the lies of Jim and exposing that he woke her up at the climax of the movie. This would have left so much more room to explore and make what you learn about each character after that point be so much more meaningful.

hear me out: if i were in the passenger situation in auroras position, i would put the guy back to sleep and wait a year. at the end of that year, i would wake up the next person and convince them to put me back to sleep. then they would wait a year, wake up a new person, be put back to sleep, and the new person would wait for a year. or a month, or a week. doesnt have to be a year. basically this can happen nearly 5,000 times. no one ages significantly enough for it to be an issue. everyone just takes turn being a lonely passenger before giving the job to the next person, until finally, everyone wakes up and reunites with the person who woke them up.

The thing I've found really helps with period cramps is ginger. Just those travel ginger tablet for nausea works fine, but I'm sure any kind would do. It doesn't get rid of the pain entirely, but it makes it so that I'm no longer desperately watching the clock in anticipation for when I can take more painkillers. Turmeric is good too, and black pepper to improve absorption. They're all great for any kind of inflammation. You can also just use them in cooking if you prefer not to take tablets.

Cigarettes aren't coming back, it's that tobacco never left. Been addicted/committed to smoking for the last 15 years and I can tell you the number of teens/early 20s who smoke has been consistent throughout that time. Kids just smoked Hookah, dip (chewing tobacco) and ecigs (what we used to call Vapes since Vapes at the time were understood to be synthetic weed. If it's nicotine it was an ecig, if it was vape it was weed) but once these kids stopped needing to hide their smoking they just switched to normal cigs (plus it's more convenient to buy a pack at a gas station than refills online/vape store). Needing to hide cigs meaning they stopped living with their parents, grew to an age where they didn't feel parental/social pressure, stopped being in the same house with younger siblings etc. Social smokers (the majority of smokers) have also been consistently present, you just don't know they smoke cuz you never drink with them.

The pettiest thing I’ve done I actually do at work but it’s really small. Basically I keep getting emailed duplicates of documents that i already received days or weeks ago.
