Just making sure i understand what happened, QT was told by some scammers to go to a court building where they planned to kidnap her, but her phone died and without further instruction from the scammers she actually went inside the building, informed them of the situation, they realised what was going on and pulled QT in to a safe room while they searched for the scammers/kidnappers? That's fucking insane and terrifying.

For those curious for context on the GTA leaker: He was apparently a true blooded cyber hacker not just stealing clips/files from dad and he was declared to be psychiatrically unfit for trial by doctors who examined him and also stated in their report that he "continued to express the intent to return to cybercrime as soon as possible". He has been in trouble with authorities for cyber stuff before and was still on bail when he hacked Rockstar. Since he's psychiatrically unfit to stand trial and presents a risk to the public he was given an indefinite sentence at a psychiatric hospital/facility until his doctors say he is able to return to society. This is what actually happens when a court finds you're actually "crazy" and not faking it to get out of jail/trouble. The case then just revolves around proving whether he did the thefts and that they actually occurred -> Defendant goes to the psych facility/hospital. (this does not happen often and is a difficult process due to the obvious implications).

@@duskpede5146 The problem was, he was an active participant of the Lapsus$ hacking group. He was deemed psychologically unfit to stand trial because hacking isn't just something he does, its a literal compulsion he can't control. While he was in pre-trial detention he was able to participate in hacking with a Firestick, a cell phone and his SmartTV. He stole identities, impersonated people, engaged in social engineering and extortion, caused tens of millions of dollars of expenses for public companies, felt no remorse for any of his actions and was enthusiastic about returning to hacking as soon as it was possible, in or out of prison.

BRO I think I got the exact same scammer (or extremely similar) that QT talked about. They said there were charges at a Walmart in another state. I got a call from what looked like Bank of America since they spoofed the number, then they were trying to walk me through depositing money into CashApp for no reason which of course is when I realized it was a scam. They also read me my own address, which isn't extremely surprising since apparently addresses are really easy to get a hold of, but it's still spooky. The shittiest part is that there's no discernible difference between a spoofed number and the real thing on your phone. I called my bank right after and my phone call history read out as if they called me and I called them right back.
@eyegnieesllA Жыл бұрын
That's crazy they can spoof the number you'd think they'd have some kind of failsafe for that. Like, how does even an attempt at altering the coding that deals with your number NOT immediately detected and dealt with?
@emmafountain2059 Жыл бұрын
@@eyegnieesllA Phone numbers were designed as an addressing system, not a security system. Caller ID just relies on what the connection tells it. Think of it like the return address on a letter. Sure, it might be possible to check that the return address on every piece of mail matches where it was actually sent from, but the overhead to do that is monumental for a pretty minor benefit. In addition there are legitimate uses for spoofing, like for example a company with multiple call centers that all want to be appear as the same support hotline.

Rose isn't a blend of red and white wine. Wines get their color and most of their flavor from the skin of the grape. Rose, Blush or White Zin are all made by using a smaller amount of the skin and shortening the amount of time the juice has contact with it in order to get the pink color that it is known for.

This 18-year-old is facing charges from a hack on Rockstar in which he stole data containing in-game clips of GTA 6, employee information, and (supposedly) GTA 6 source code. The reason why he is facing a sentence of life in a psychiatric ward is that he has a prior history of cybercrime and has acute autism which has contributed to that behavior, he has stated that he does not regret his actions and that he would continue to commit cyber crimes whenever able, as such he was deemed unfit for trial and will be going into rehab either for life or until a time when the facility can state that he no longer poses a threat.
