I call 'em Rolie Polies here in NC USA :) Sadly, my chickens won't touch them. I've tried all those methods and they work but are high maintenance or expense so I lay boards around in the garden. I had a bunch of 4" wide panel boards from a house renovation and they fit perfectly between rows of vegetables. The moisture underneath attracts all the above PLUS slugs! I have a bucket of water, lift the board and scrape the bottom of it into the bucket. I haven't tried them in the cruciferous bed yet but will this year in hopes of trapping the cabbage loopers :)

I had success avoiding cabbage moth by covering brassicas with picnic plate tent or tulle. Had lots of trouble last few years, but pill bugs are the devil this year. Will be trying the board and scrape method

I found if I plant catnip out away from my cabbages etc the cabbage looper butter fly/moths are attracted to it and will lay their eggs there, I put a water dish by it for them and they leave my cabbage alone, if some do wonder into my braccia I pick them by hand and either squish their heads or drop them in a bucket of soapy water

Going to try this next. A solution of crushed garlic and water sprayed on and around roll up bugs deters them. Make a homemade pill bug spray by combining one tablespoon of crushed garlic with a quart of water. Spray the solution on the pests and in areas where you see them. Garlic spray works well to get rid of pill bugs organically.

I cut the bottom of a small plastic cup or container and put around of my new planted crops like a border and the roly-polies cannot enter or climb in my new plants. It works.

Putting dried leaves on my garden last fall is what got me into this mess! They loves eating them then multiplied and are eating my vegetables and had eaten all my small seeds I direct sowed. Had to grow them in pots first now my vegetables are getting eaten as soon as they ripen and some before that

I teach gardening at a private high school and every year my seedlings get ravaged by pill bugs in our growing dome. The only method I’ve found that works is adding in organic material to the soil. I’ve seen a method of burying small cups of beer into the soil, which I’m hesitant to try because of curious teenagers. Diatomaceous earth does not work for me because the dome has an average 80% humidity level so it’s never really dry. I’ve set up traps by cutting plastic cups and placing duct tape (sticky side up) under them so when they go to shelter under the cup they stick to the tape, but even that doesn’t work great. I’ll definitely try the fruit method though. It’s a never ending battle for me.

I am running my own experiment in my greenhouse to control Slaters (NZ term) using sheep's wool as mulch (we have sheep so its a free resource). I soaked the wool then covered the raised garden in a thin layer. The Slaters disappeared quickly, this am I don't see any around the plants. Will keep you posted on the result. I also use sheep's wool around my fruit trees.

You mentioned green beans, the slugs like them too. I use slug bait and sluggo plus has an organic additive that gets rid of other problems attacking young seedlings. Just a light sprinkle around your plants makes a huge difference in controlling pest problems.

For using the DE and the Neem Oil: do I use only at the base of the plant or all over? Lost ally green beans this round, several heads of lettuces and a kale, basil and marigold! Insecticidal soap spray took care of the aphids on the lettuces but seemed to invite everything else in. I've resorted to just putting up with them n trying to start some more seeds for beans n herbs. This has been a rough year. Looking for all the advice n tips I can get
