I found my garden infested with earwigs last night by flashlight. I felt just like you. I have lost my squash, and many of my plants are riddled with holes. I am going to do battle tonight, and like you, I am praying it works. Thank you.

Where I live, earwigs are prolific, but last summer they ate literally everything (we have tons of ants here, too). My house plants that I put outside suffered, flowers were devoured, etc. The oil traps work. They like moisture, for sure. You can put damp rolled up newspapers or anything rolled up and moist around your house and it will be loaded with them in the morning. They are so gross.

I know your video is several years old and I am a second year gardner. The amount of work that I have put into my seedlings, my yard, and my garden is back breaking and earwigs and pill bugs are eating everything. I have cut worms too. I found your video and just ordered all the stuff. Thank you. I am so so so sad. I felt your pain. This helped me so much. Love from Colorado.

I'm having the same issue - I've never had pincher bugs before and my containers of summer flowers are infested with them - I've lost a lot of money and most of my summer flowers

So sad. It got better! The traps were full of pincher bugs. The garden has come back to life! There's hope, don't give up.

I feel your pain. Cutworms killed all the spring crops I planted in the ground except the cucumbers for some reason. August and I'm still attempting just one head of summer lettuce that doesn't disappear at night. After a week I popped about 20 of them though, out there with the nightlight.😂

Thanks. It's been painful to watch. Normally at this time of year I am excited to see my garden turn green with all of the new growth, but this year I am fearful to discover new damage each morning. These three natural methods have been working to slow down these hungry bugs.

Can you show what the results were in your oil/soy trap?
@lulishomestead67673 жыл бұрын
I checked in the morning and some traps had only a few, the others had a good amount.

the oil traps work. but most of the activity going into them will be at night.

When you use a dish soap with water spray mixture on the plants to get rid of ear wigs at night, can the spray burn the plant leaves? And will it work as well without vinegar? (When you mix dishsoap with water, some recipes add vinegar. This mist spray technique comes from spraying aphids but seems to work on earwigs also...but unsure if it can burn the plant leaves.) I'm doing both a mist spray to get some and the oil traps. both work so far. ... I've run into people that say neem oil burned their plants or something... So perhaps if you use it it has to be a certain ratio to be safe?

Neem oil also kills bees so don’t use. Dogs and cats get into oil traps.
@lulishomestead67672 жыл бұрын
I spray neem oil solution in the evening when the bees are safe in their hive. As far as cats and dogs, I did not have that issue. The traps have covers on and the holes are too small for the large animals to get in.
