Oh my gosh! Thank you for sharing. I was just working on trying to activate muscles in my lower back and the breathing explanation really helped. I'm working on fixing decades of bad posture and old injuries. I believe I can repair my body but I have to face the pain. So far I've fixed my right shoulder and most of the right ankle (the pain moved to the heel) it is crazy but I'm learning how the muscles connect correctly. Just wanted to share my journey, once again thank you for the help ✌🏾🤠

@donovanmartinez5609 Thanks for sharing that Donavan, and I'm happy to hear that it was helpful and made sense. Yes the breathing in this way can and does really activate and bring balance to the muscles and connective tissues in the mid section including the lower back. I use it even for lifting heavy weights as I find it the easiest way to activate my core and protect the spine. Keep at it my friend and yes, we may need to face pain as times, but pain can be a very good teacher if approached the right way. More power to you 🙏

Breathing and posture / "postural restauration" and martial arts - you are on the clock with what I try to implement once again! 💛 Where does the Sifu end, where does the wizard begin; I don't know :D EDIT: Breathing and posture was always a key none of my Sifus talked about... I think it should at least _mentioned_ in the first lesson, just so it is possible for this seed to be able to sprout in practice (imho). So thank you very much for putting this knowledge out there in a well structured and easy to understand way!

@@MindfulWingChun Somethng similar (because of posture problems including light scoliosis, knee problem, tight hip on right side etc.), but breathing and stance was something I was hoping to get a grip on for quite a while. Looking forward to that hip-/leg-/lower-half- follow-up video! :)

Sorry Nima - quick question. I understand that CST produces tremendous strength. But it seems this can be done only when the spine and head are straight. In a fight - is that practical? As we always bend, turn, duck etc in fights and we don't have the opportunity to almost stand in a stance that some would say is robotic. What do you say? Thank you!

@@MindfulWingChun Thank you for asking. I am week 16. However, Though, I have studied 4 yrs. from another lineage and completed all of the forms. when practicing the forms u get in the horse stance by turning ur toes with hills together then turning ur hills out then turning ur toes forward an should be in line with ur shoulders correct??? Or do u take a step to wifed the stance??
@MindfulWingChun
@MindfulWingChun Ай бұрын
@jerrygonzales3180 You mean in Siu Nim Tao stance? If so, then yes the toes (and knees) should be pointing in slightly. This is to cultivate the idea of triangulation of your force/intention into the target. For the Low Horse Stance which is practiced for the Long Pole form, the toes are pointing outward and the stance is much wider than the shoulders...
