Superb achievement, I thought it was impossible to do until I saw it. I was able to beach start as you do, with my Wasp 6 wing and my Liquid Force twintip board, with a 29 knots wind.

Thank you for that feedback, everybody is telling me without a foil board and riding on a surfboard or twintip, you need 40 knts ! This video and your opinion just prove it's wrong. I think lots of people need to try a 9m wing like the Gong Super wing.

@@JohnDanielBrigadier Of course the stronger wind,the better, but around 19-20 knots, you can have fun. If you can get around 25 knots or above, the serious fun begins. Keep in mind that beach start is not easy, water start as well. You need to practice. If you have kite surfing experience, you will have a huge advantage. Also, I recommend using a harness if you get really strong wing (above 25 knots). A windsurfing harness is better than a classic kite surfing harness. If you don't have a foil, you can still have serious fun with a wing, but you need a small sup or surf board (foot-straps if you can). Everything depends on your height-weight and experience. Have fun and don't be afraid to experiment.

@@JohnDanielBrigadier I wish I could buy the GONG SUP MOB 2TASTE FSP 2X board, but they cannot ship rigid boards in my country. This is major turn off with Gong products. They sell and ship their boards in Polynesia and other international countries, but they told me that shipping to Japan was impossible.

3 years later it's interesting to see this longer, skinny board after wing foiling JUST getting off short, wide boards and guess what? Long, skinny boards all the rage. Get up to foiling (or planing) speed faster and in less wind. Of course the big difference is once on foil you've got all this board mass to swing on turns. Not ideal either.

I prefer my carbon fiber razor blades of doom. But thank you for your demonstration

Why don’t more riders start with a twin tip rather than a fool board, this looks easier to start with and less complex board?
@huzcer3 жыл бұрын
you'd need a big wing and a strong wind. it would not work for most days. learning with a SUP board and a wing teaches you the skills better than using a twintip as the standing up and turning are similar to on a foil.

That was my thought too, why would you want do that?? I was out winging today with around 40kn with the Rrd 3m and could easily waterstart, my 40L kitefoil board, windsurf style. It's just so much fun with a little board, but a foil underneath of course
