We have something similar here in Minnesota. Northern Renegades, and UMSS. They are very economical and fun to race.

I would Love to see this class. I like the idea of having an affordable sprint class with what sound like would be injected street stock motors. We gotta keep the rules in check though to keep it from getting out of control. I think if you made it so that we ran street stock legal motors with old style hilborn injection it would open it up to street stock guys that want to move up, and allow some of the cor pac guys that have fallen behind to run competitively.

Couple of points, apologies if totally wrong. Listening Carefully he did lift right before the wheels hit what look like a rutted area. Sprint Cars do behave differently went you lift/miss your mark. Good on the track for having that cushioning if front of the wall. What is the cushioning ? Is it an item made by the track or commercially available? North East Coast Modified Racer.

exactly right, he got out of it in the corner and it unseated the car. It takes a few races to figure this out.

I would like to see a shock and tire rule to help too. we need to be able to run cheap shocks, and I am not sure how to do it, but we shouldn't be allowed to run new tires every week, maybe set a minimum # of nights they have to run, or require used from Cor Pac only or something. if this happens, 2013 I will try to be out there again. Keep it Affordable

Back in the sixties, my uncle ran this type of car in central Illinois, but we called it the "modified" then. He used to brag that he could outrun the Hilborn injected engines with his two barrel carb! It really was a carb converted to one big butterfly that went across both barrels. What he mostly had on his walls were pictures of him flipping it up around the level of the telephone pole tops! It's like driving a big go cart on a dirt track! I wish I could have driven one!

That old guy don't have enough sense to get off the throttle, he'll get horrible fuel economy driving like that. LOL I always wanted to drive a sprint car, I figure it's like driving a real powerful go-kart. The biggest problem with a sprint car is you don't have any mirrors, so how in hell are you supposed to block those behind you intent on passing? Hell NASCAR has mirrors, and also someone with binoculars. who tips you off to go high or low, which prevents any passing for the most part. Damn sprint cars do so much passing that if you go to take a piss you have no idea who's leading and who's in last place. I suppose that's why I love sprint car racing so much.
@5051978 жыл бұрын
You have no clue to whom you're talking, And if I may correct you, you should have said "you're" an idiot, it's a contraction of you and are. And by the way, I was the champion from 1961 to 1966 of the Grand Prix de Applegate Lane, held in my backyard. I raced against all the best of the time, Jim Clark, Randy Gruntatelli, A.J. Foxbat, Jim Hurthebees. You name it they all raced there. I was never bested, even during the red flags waved by my mother to come in for dinner. My racer was powered by an iron lung engine, the owner passed away shortly after I attained it. I grew up watching Bill Kimmel Sr., Franks daddy, race at the Sportsdrome Speedway. I could see the back stretch from a tree in my backyard. He and Charlie Glotzbach used to fight it out on the high speed 1/4 mile oval in late models, which at the time were early 60s beasts. I don't know why driving a damn sprint car should be so hard, they let children do it, and I'll be goddamned if I can't out drive a snot nosed brat with no crotch hair. I can wreck just as good as any pro, just show me a fence and I can knock that sob down. I have often said, "If you don't have to lift for the corner, you ain't going fast enough" I should add to that, "or you have too much down force". Shannon, I have underwear older than you are. Are you any relation to Britney?
