The story and art is not made by them though, just the editing and voices. Original is a published book series.

Yes, that is true. Though we did plan to partly animate some of the scenes like heads moving, wings moving, maybe some particles here and there, and we did get a scene or two partly animated like that, but we lost that editor along the way in the project. So sadly, it didn't make it into the final product.

It's debatable. In the first part of the book where it describes the tribes, their snouts are long and not smushed, for some reason in the comic it is? I say it's debatable since both are canon.

I agree with Luna Eclipse. I think the book's design is the more cannon over the graphic novel, since the graphic novel is made with the style of an artist. But they have long snouts originally not smushed. Also...seawings have only one fin on the head, not 3. They changed lot's of things, propbably to be more graphic novel-friendly if you know what I mean.
