What a treat. This early episode with studio master quality showing up on Wink's channel gives me hope we'll see repeats on BUZZR soon. I never thought it would happen with Classic Concentration and look what happened.

There's one hurdle they would have to go through and that's going through Hasbro.

And BUZZR did it again recently with 1988 NBC daytime episodes of Sale of The Century. So who knows? Maybe Scrabble and/or even Time Machine might be on BUZZR in the future!

Not sure if Fremantle will team up with Hasbro’s Entertainment One to get the rights to this classic 80’s game show.

for a show produced in the mid-80s, the graphics on this show were state of the art. I can only imagine how this show would look if it was produced today/

I like how if you listen to it with your left ear, you can hear the stage audience applause while in the right ear you hear those usual applause tracks.

My all-time favorite parts of the show were the music and lights. I even like the introduction and the sliding projector at the start of the game, moreover.

Loved this show so much in the summers of 88 and 89 when I’d be home most mornings. I do like those later days a bit more with Charlie Tuna announcing and the different sprint and bonus formats.

While Fremantle owns the rights, Hasbro stands in the way. Once that hurdle clears, then BUZZR will air them. Until then, you can only see Chuck on BUZZR, either through the "Tattletales" episodes he did with his then-wife JoAnn Pflug or the recent commercial with him pitching an arthritis reliever.

Me too. However game shows that's based off of board games, networks like GSN and Buzzr would have to pay the game company (in this case Hasbro).
@brb5885 жыл бұрын
That's not relevant. GSN would have to pay someone; whether it is a network or a board game company doesn't matter. They just don't want to pay. Buzzr only airs Fremantle shows, so it's unlikely it would ever show up there.

This was the earlier version of the game, when they had a Scrabble sprint champion that was separate from the other players. Also, no bonus tiles and you didn't have to hit the buzzer in the regular game much.

19:54 Rhonda can't find the tiles. Also, the letters come up before she drops the tiles in the slot, so the letter reveals are not really controlled by the tiles. This is the only time I saw it happen out-of-sync.

Where the clock located in the Sprint round? It's obvious that the display we see on TV is quite different than what the contestants see.
@sha112355 жыл бұрын
It's probably on the board, like with the letters that pop up.
@c3po6265 жыл бұрын
It's located off stage to their left on a monitor overhead. The only thing the players see on the cube, is the computer displayer for the letters to be picked for in each word. And the word itself on the 9 puzzle monitors located above. Although in the pilot episode before the cube accident happened, there were eggcrate display readouts on the left and right side of the giant cube for each players time keepers.

One thing that I wonder--why did they rotate the cube before the drums of the Reg Grundy Productions logo? Was it to set up for the next taping?

That didn't make sense to me either. This was a straddling version of the show and I think this was just before they ruined the cube and had to replace all the wiring and monitors.
