I remember that guy! One of his knees gave out after winning a match and when he was well enough to come back, he won the $25,000 and literally lifted Tom Kennedy off his feet!

Tom Kennedy gave a candid interview with the Pacific Pioneer Broadcasters, saying that even the celebrities they threw at this show at the end couldn't save it. I loved his candor and warmth!

When this was aired on CBS daytime on Thursday, October 11, 1979, I did not watch this episode because I was at Bella Vista North in Monterey Park, CA with Leanor Martinez as teacher.

Urban legend says Stephen's nickname was "Blacky", it sounds more like he said "Black Eye" Which isn't as "controversial " a name.
