I thought the same thing! The THPS series has some iconic soundtracks for sure. I played the originals back in the day up through THUG, and was happy to see THPS 1+2 was a faithful return to form after... THPS 5 lmao. Discovered Destroy Boys through their song on that soundtrack and they're a ton of fun live

I feel like this is the best alternative to potential DMCA strikes, just pay a live band to show up instead.
@skeetsmcgrew3282Күн бұрын
So Game Grumps one time were joking around and Arin SANG Darud's Sandstorm, an entirely electronic song with no lyrics, and it got popped for a DMCA. Luckily in this specific context they just need to satisfy lawyers and aren't necessarily trying to make bank on the KZbin video. But yeah, not that simple for every context

I'm not a regular GDQ/speedrun watcher, but friends filled me in on the lore about Crazy Taxi being disallowed due to licensing and the decision to just perform the songs live instead. Coupled with my love for 90s & 00s punk rock, my interest was more than piqued! And holy shit, this was the coolest shit I've ever seen wrapped up alongside any kind of speedrun performance. Kudos to everyone at AGDQ for making this happen, to the runner, and especially to the musicians who performed and basically played & sung non-stop for nearly 30 minutes. 😂
@CybeastID21 сағат бұрын
In the case of the songs, "Way Down The Line" in particular also just has some *rather problematic* lyrics.
This was the best gdq run I think I’ve ever seen. The energy in the room was amazing. And the band was on point with both playing the music and keeping the flow going along with the game. I hope they continue to experiment with unique runs in the future!
