I absolutely love the View (particularly the new floor plans 24R & 24T) but the CCC (cargo carrying capacity) is totally ridiculous and unacceptable (962 lbs). The Trekko is slightly over 1,500 lbs and the Sprekko is about 1,200 lbs. - plus the View is not a 4 season RV. We spent 2 weeks at Gulf Shores, AL (that's on the gulf coast) last winter and for an entire week, the temperatures hovered around freezing. A couple of nights the temperatures dropped to 10 degrees and a lot of RVers were struggling with (and repairing) frozen water lines. We had no issues whatsoever. If your RVing style include the possibility of cold temperatures, either Ekko would be fine. Having said that, I wish Winnebago would come up with an Ekko floor plan similar to the new View/Navion layouts. They would probably take the market by storm since it would check a lot of boxes for people looking into RVs that are less than 25 feet long.

We’ve looked at the Ekko sprinter recently and I’d enjoy a video of how you store food, plates, pots & pans especially where you put your jackets the stuff that needs to be hung up. My wife is concerned that there’s not much inside storage. We recently sold our little rpod so we aren’t use to a lot of space. Or maybe just reply to this. Thanks,

At 6'3", I would like the longer 80" bed length than the 76" bed in our Transit Ekko, but I have adapted. Also, not having the AC over the bed is a definite plus. The layout of the dinette is also nice, but all of that comes with the extra 18" length of from 23' of the Transit to 24'6" of the Sprekko. But most of all, where did they get the couple in the Sprekko pictures on the Winnebago website!!
@ekkonesters5993 ай бұрын
@@johnthomson5730 hello, yes, the longer bed is definitely a plus. And the relocation of the air conditioner was a bonus as well. Still get a little used to the length, not quite as easy to parallel park in the city as it was with the transit EKKO. no complaints overall and definitely loving the increased ground clearance and modification options. But to be honest, we do miss that horsepower of the transit. We do miss Bad Betty, but Dirty Dolly is doing a great job. Hahaha on the couple on the Winnebago website, I hear they are a little crazy. Thanks for checking our video.

Sprinter has been around. But i prefer the transit for gasoline. I don't want to deal with diesel emissions. You can make it one fuel for cheaper due to you can't even find a diesel generator that small for that fits in lp gen spot. Comeing from 18 wheels the ford is best option parts are cheap dealership everywhere.

I was initially looking at their Class B camper vans. I really like how nimble the Class B camper vans are. You can go everywhere and park anywhere. The Winnebago Travato 59K is what we were specifically interested in but since relocating from NYC to Florida, we’re learning about what it means to live in hurricane prone state. I’m now thinking about getting something more in the line of this. I really wish that they would’ve done that new lounge/dining area update to the Ford Transit chassis model. 😢 I love the new soft grey color scheme and the wet bath is a game changer but most of all, I really love what they did with the dining area however I also would’ve preferred having the outdoor kitchen. The one burner induction cooktop is a turn off for me. BTW, this will be our first RV purchase. I just retired and this has been a life long wish of mine! Your opinion and advice would be greatly appreciated! 😂 My main concern about this RV is the size. 🤷🏻♀️

Hello! The size hasn’t been a huge issue for us coming from the transit ekko. We love it and it maneuvers very well through towns etc. We are enjoying the dinette / lounge area, it’s quite comfy & flexible. Thanks for a lot of great videos. We're on our second Sprinter 144, DIY. We were contemplating a 170, but exploring all options. The SPREKKO hits hard!!! 2 questions: 1. pros and cons of a super single vs dually? That's new to us. Also, the tow rating on a dually is 7500, but only 5000 on the SPREKKO? 2. We built a kitchen that folds out once our sliding door is open and don't cook indoors much. We'd definitely need to mod the passenger side somehow to incorporate our outdoor living. Any tips or leads on folks already working on it? Last, we spend our weekends in Parkdale and love that you chose the GV for the shoot!!!
@ekkonesters5993 ай бұрын
Thanks for the kind words and for watching the videos! It sounds like you've got a solid setup with your Sprinter 144, and I totally get the appeal of exploring all options. The out door kitchen set ups are ideal and that was our primary go to as well. 1. **Super Single vs. Dually**: Inhave found that the super single offers better off-road performance due to the wider tire footprint, which improves traction and stability on rough terrain. It also simplifies the wheel setup and reduces overall weight, which can be a plus. However, some argue that dually generally offer better stability under heavy loads and during heavy towing. But with the engineering around the stance and offset of the Reika wheel, id say it’s a solid option. As for the tow rating, you're right-the dually has a higher tow capacity, likely due to the added stability and load distribution from the extra tires. The SPREKKO's rating might be lower due to the overall modifications and weight distribution that come with the package. 2. **Outdoor Living Modifications**: Your fold-out kitchen setup sounds awesome! To incorporate that into the SPREKKO, you might want to look into custom fabrication options for a side-mounted kitchen or modular outdoor living setups that can be integrated into the van's design. We should have a side mount table option available next week that could fit your needs. Glad you liked the GV shoot! Parkdale is a beautiful spot-perfect for weekend escapes. Let me know if you have any other questions or needs.

Mercedes, even in the 70's, intentionally used loose piston rings so they burned a quart of oil every thousand miles. Their logic was that oil was much cheaper than a ring job. But you might want to send out for an oil test kit at 10-15,000 miles. And if the test results show "good as new" then you can be confident in the MB schedule. Changing your oil blindly, without knowing if it is needed, is somewhat absurd. Unless you are the dealer who keeps charging for it.
