One of the best organic style walkthroughs I've seen. Great job with the visual experience and the so-often-overlooked audio quality. This video is a couple of years old now - wondering if you still have the 59PX and if so, might consider a follow-up review on how it's done. Would also be very interested in any aspect related to leaving the pets inside and how you ensure their comfort and safety, if so.

Thank you so much! We still use it frequently! We recently had some life changes and are working on uploading more often about the van!

If you used the back table, where would you sit? Do you need to bring a chair? Can you sit on the back "couch" when the Murphy bed is folded up? Great job on your video :)
@GoThereDoThat2 жыл бұрын
For us, the folding table is best used for extra space when cooking. You would need to have a chair if you wanted to use it for anything else like remote work. We did end up just taking it out since our dogs sleep underneath the murphy bed and we wanted them to have more room when it's down. Also the "couch" really isn't a seat unless you're really really short, the storage cabinets above would get in your way.

Thank you for the video, great quality. ??? Question: I am leaning towards a 59px, but interested in replacing the onan generator with say 400amp/hr of lithium battery and associated inverter. Is this easily doable or advisable on a 59px? Do you have any thoughts?
@GoThereDoThat2 жыл бұрын
We would advise against changing anything electrical since it would affect your warranty with Winnebago, unless you are knowledgeable enough to make these changes and maintain them yourself. Our expertise is in photography and not mechanical upkeep of vehicles though so I’d recommend connecting with the Winnebago Solis Facebook group and there’s some experts on there that are happy to help.

I’m a little late to the party, but I want to chime in and agree with the response here. Best to find that group for the Solis owners. I have been on it because I want to get a Pocket and found an awful lot of knowledgeable Solis owners there who could probably answer that question. It can be done, I’m sure. We currently have a similar Travato G and lots of people add lithium. But you have to know what you’re doing, you don’t just drop those batteries in instead of the AGMs and you have to be beef up the wiring and increase the inverter size. Cost is $8-10,000. As far as voiding any Winnebago warranties, that would warrant looking into (pun intended), but it’s a short warranty. After that you can do what you want with impunity. Or at least take your own chances but be responsible for your own mistakes. (If you ever look at the Fit RV channel, James has a T-shirt that says: I VOID WARRANTIES.)

@@TrishBenedict Hello Trish, great useful comment you provided. My post was a bout 4 months ago and a lot has happened since then. Thor, I had crossed off my list, but recently found out they do come with Murphy bed and lithium battery. So, instead of Solis 59px, I think I will be getting Thor Tellaro 20A (or Sequence 20A, same thing). They come with optional 200 Amp-hr Li battery with 3000 watt inverter, and actually a better layout vs the PX. ... and no, you are not late to the party :) Happy Travels!

@@taurusview9 Be wary of Thor. They seem to have a really bad reliability record. Or at least go into it with your eyes open and realize that they can give you a lot for your money if you don’t mind pieces of trim falling off and things like that. I have no idea how extensive the issues are. I was chatting with our sales person after we had bought the Travato. It was a done deal, there was nothing he needed to do to sell me on anything. And he volunteered that he would never sell a Thor. If somebody came in and they were set on buying a Thor product, he said he would turn them over to another sales person. I didn’t ask for any details but I filed that away for future reference. And there’s a couple who have a fledgling KZbin channel called “VanKaskeys”. They have a brand new Tellaro and they just did a segment a week or two ago on how things are falling off of it. Also go to Facebook and join the Tellaro owners and wannabes group. You’ll have people who can tell you the extent of the problems they’re having, but I’ve heard that there are a lot of complaints. And having said that, I’ll say that they all have some degree of problems. We bought our Travato two weeks before lockdown so it wasn’t one of the pandemic models that are supposed to be shoddy because of supply problems and rushed assembly to get them to market to meet the demand. In our case La Mesa didn’t do a complete pre-delivery inspection before they sent it out and we had a dead fridge. Had to wait for a couple of months for an appointment, then a month to get a new one shipped down from British Columbia, then installation. Brand new Travato just sitting at the shop for about three months unusable. So they all have some degree of frustration. 🤬

@@TrishBenedict THANK YOU, very kind of you to take the time for a comprehensive response. I will take your advice to heart and will do my due diligence before I plunge into it. Frankly, I also do have an eye on an import "Wingamm 610" which is supposed to be in the US some time next year, fingers crossed. My current plan is to see that first before I sign the dotted line on anything. 610 seems to be an amazing layout. One foot shorter than Thor 10A and yet, bigger. Seriously! If you have the time, please take a look on KZbin. Anyways, that is my story for now, and we'll see what happens next year. Take care.

What size baskets are you using in your upper cabinet in the queen bed area? And what shelving system do you use to make 2 levels? Thank you!
Only 4 seatbelts and please see the more recent comment from Elizabeth Perez to give you a rough idea on pricing these days.

Thank you for this great review. I’ve watched many videos of class B RVs. One of the things I’m looking for is storage. You did a great job showing us the depth of the back storage, which I have not fully seen on the Solis. I love this model. It is on my list of possibilities. I also appreciate that you have two dogs and a cat. I am in Florida, and I worry about having two cats to travel with me. Thanks for the idea with the kitty litter in the back area. Enjoy your journeys. I look forward to more videos from you. 🚐 🏕

Thank you! We tried thinking of everything people might want to know about it. Also, camping cats are great! Even though we had never imagined taking a cat with us, our kitty Smoosh loves the outdoors!
