I heard from a certain Begode rep on a certain group chat they made this thing for a few reasons, some of them being : 1 - The 98wh one is supposed to be the first ever "airline safe" EUC (at your own risk of it getting confiscated), making Begode the first at this. 2 - It is designed to take on the KS basketball (Like you said in the video) and possibly even embarrass it. 3 - Last mile commuter/beginner/kid friendly wheel, its not really aimed at people who have big fast EUCs, some people like smaller wheels even if they seem weak to experienced riders. 4. Some regions have started banning big PEVs in public transit for stupid reasons, this gets around it by being able to be hidden in a bag. Also this is probably the cheapest option for anyone who wants to try an EUC, sticker shock is a real problem for EUC adoption since not many folk are willing to drop loads of cash on something they don't know how to ride.

Great points Neptune, I'd like to add to that with: It is still at the airlines discretion regarding PEVs? It is difficult to ascertain the Mini's battery size without a teardown. A spec sheet could be pulled up I guess. Quite a niche use case but if anyone does this let us know! the upper limit is 160Wh for anyone curious. My thought is the Mten3 is overall a better candidate for backpacks since they're slimmer, lighter, larger battery and more powerful motor. Sadly it's discontinued and superseded by the Mten4 which is a tad heavier than the Mini. However the Mten4S is similar mass to the Mini but once again, larger battery (300Wh) and more powerful motor (1000W). Thus the only benefit of the Mini being cost. But my angle is that it's not worth it. Particularly since such a small wheel combined with lack of power is a overpower / faceplant recipe. Just not enough time in a short to fit all that in. Hopefully that'll help anyone needing an ultralightweight for this use case!

Certainly doesn't fill any need I have. Maybe you nailed it with the office get around?

I've heard and seen the small wheels being used for that!

I completely agree with your perspective. Begode should consider developing a 134V Mten with suspension to prevent overpowering. Maintaining the 750W battery, similar to the current Mten4, could position it as a direct competitor to the Onewheel GT S-series. No EUC should below the 100V in this day an age.

ultralight suspension wheel that's portable. sounds fun

I could stuff an mten mini into a small backpack and board a bus who has recently banned e-bikes.

I'll wait for a review from 5 years old: Felicity on the EUC Family channel. Let's see if Begode is smart enough to send her and her brother a couple of units.

This is not an enthusiast wheel. Its a wheel for kids or those that want to travel short distances at a gentle speed. I'd buy this wheel cis it looks fun to use and great to teach the kids.

excellent use cases. I'm keen to try a small wheel sometime
