I am a singer and a songwriter myself and I can tell you, this was on a different level. Armenia was also extremely good and got a bit overlooked and Norway got robbed imho, but this won for a very good reason. Okay. Nemo's singing talent is beyond question, and Baby Lasagna would have been just as deserving of the win. Both countries have led the odds for weeks, and both have recognized each other as the strongest contender, albeit in very different ways: Take a look at the points distribution in detail. Croatia gave Switzerland the fewest points of all the countries, only one point in total (jury + audience combined), then comes Israel with five points, then France with eleven, then all the other countries with at least 12. And if we turn things around, we see that Switzerland gave its highest score to Croatia (18 in total). Conclusion: Switzerland would have liked Croatia to win, but not at all the other way around.

The jury's go for well crafted performances or vocally impressive songs. Nemo slayed in both departments, his song is vocally extremely challenging and he basically sung it like it's nothing. He still got 5th in the public vote - which is still a lot with his 200 something points. So the public liked it as well.

As a 21 y.o. woman, you're more open minded than me. I struggled a lot to take them seriously, especially in the orchestra version but honestly that's very terrible of me. In the end I just focused on his talent, which they have but honestly I still feel uncomfortable in front of guys who sound and look like guys but dressed like a girl would but then again I am fine with the opposite. I recognise my close mind. They are a talented person and that's what matters. If calling them they, instead of him, helps them, I'm glad to work on my discriminatory limits (but I still find it hard to understand)
