This episode is easily one of my new favorite episodes of the whole series. That final play from Alec with Lava Golem, only for Paul (who I hope is having a good recovery) to have a counter and push for game. That was so cool and fun to watch. I love the little Reality Show Style cut-ins explaining the cards and how the duelists are feeling. It’d be funny if they had like Trell or Alex commenting on the moves the duelists make as viewers… might be weird though

Hey, these Rare Hunters have been some of the most fun card game videos I've seen in a long time. I think I appreciate the slower format and the fact that you're limited to the cards you open from the boosters, so your decks can never be entirely overpowered by having 3 of every amazing card. I must also mention that your guys chemistry and charisma (your charismistry if you will) makes it delightful, having the perfect balance of being goofy and roleplaying while not going overboard into cringe and annoying. Keep it up and I hope these 20 bucks help speed up for when the next episode comes out! Happy Holidays!

I might catch flak for this, but Old Yugioh>>>>>>>>>New Yugioh Same goes for Pokemon TCG too, EX and GX ruined the game completely by invalidating the entire old gameplay loop. Being able to instantly put down a 220HP Basic with a 1-or-2-energy 50+ attack is busted, and makes every Stage 1 and Stage 2 ever printed basically useless. The whole evolution mechanic gets thrown in the garbage unless you strictly ban those cards.

@@MastaDRD I think old Yu-Gi-Oh was way better than new Yu-Gi-Oh! And I agree to an extent about Pokemon, but it is still a fun game that may have let power creep, you know, creep in a little bit too much, but the mechanics of the game are still very much the same, unlike Yu-Gi-Oh which got so confusing after and even during Synchro summons. Synchro summons, an overabundance of hand traps and op effects that are like a paragraph or three long, and Beyond, and turn two wins Ruined Yu-Gi-Oh! Imo. Also, Magic the Gathering got way too complex and confusing with new abilities and game mechanics coming out every single set now, since the Godzilla set! It's so stupid! With Pokemon, however, there's still a good amount of back and forth and the same basic principles, you just got to find ways to accelerate Energies for fast damage, Draw, and often get the newest, most powerful cards, but that's pretty much any card game. You should see some of the new cards, like Charizard VMAX, Charizard V-Star, Pikachu VMAX, Arceus V, Arceus V Star, Kingler V, Kingler VMAX, Zacian V, Etc. They are awesome! Pretty cool artwork for Pokemon, and very powerful yet definitely not confusing. If you want to give any card game another chance, I would go for Pokemon.

@@jamesmiranda1449 See with MTG though, you can bring a deck with only old cards and still win against a deck with the newest, hottest mechanics. Not one single pre-EX/GX Pokemon deck will ever win against a newer one with that stuff, not more than 1-3 out of 100 times and only then due to terrible hands/draws for the opponent. Yugioh is another case where a pre-Synchro/etc deck stands basically zero chance; the dynamic of the game itself has changed so substantially with everything designed to win in the first few turns, and instant recursion of the deck's best cards over and over.

1:30 5:30 I always liked the card Souleater. Remember getting it as a kid i thought the design was quite cool and interesting. Weird that it is a fish and a earth attribute though, Probably the only one if im not mistaken. As kid many of the cards captured my imagination, even ones that are not relevant in the card or anime. Much like this fish that is earthly that feeds on souls!

I don't know if you all will see this, but I absolutely adore this series. It is slow and understandable for a Yu-Gi-Oh noob like me, but also exciting and high-stakes. I also enjoyed the edits with the players asides in this where you explained your reasoning. Not only does it give me an insight on why you played a card or how devastating it is for the other duelist, but it lets me get to know the character behind the Team APS members. This set is really iconic for me. This is the one that was in shops when I first got into yugioh, age ~9ish. I only had a couple starter decks before but then I amassed a huge playground deck made exclusively out of Pharaonic Guardian. I don't really play any more, only got into speed duel and master duel recently, but seeing all these obscure old cards again brings back so many memories.
