Wow, marshal behind front-row bomb. Interesting to learn that one should strike w/spy in that situation. Rule being, I suppose, that the spy is overvalued in that position and even if you lose it to sergeant, it's by no means the end of the game?

It was an annoying position because I would have liked to identify the piece with the scout, but if I do the spy is out of position and can be sniped. Obviously I don't want to lose the major so I chose not to hit with that. The next best thing is to move back with the general, once he follows me by moving in I have two real options, risk the general or risk the spy. So I choose it is far more reasonable to risk the spy.

You would definitely get more views if you picked a different color and design for your pieces. White and yellow pieces, along with the design, makes it hard to tell one piece from another.
