The Keanu heckler actually refused the Collector's Edition, asking them to donate to charity instead. Something that, bizarrely, got him lambasted, because hOW DARE YOU ask giant companies to donate to charity rather than give you a gift.

He put them on the spot and asked then to donate something that was 10 times more expensive than the gift they offered him. Not very noble to offer a donation out of someone else's pocket, just a complete dick move in that situation. If he really wanted to be nice, he could have asked for his collector's edition to be signed by the people who made it and then auctioned that off, which would surely fetch a pretty nice price and then donated that to charity. Or just asked CDPR to keep the collector's edition and make a donation of that amount to a charity.

Bethesda knew they had a fairly shitty conference, with nothing to show for their big two new games, and two mobile game announcements (one of which isn't even a new game). They also know they're pretty unpopular at the moment, with everything that's happened with Fallout 76. They saw how the last BlizzCon went, and took steps to make sure they didn't have a repeat of that.

No, I almost guarantee it was just in fact people being people. Jim's right. Being a pro wrestling fan equipped him well to anticipate the results of rewarding a crowd, or individuals within that crowd, for behaviors. The simple fact is, it causes more of the behavior. And typically, not in very fun ways. WWE gets no sympathy since frankly they deserve to be heckled at every goddamn show, and I think Beach Ball needs to be pushed to the moon- I had to entirely skip that section, I just couldn't. But it doesn't look quite in line with the original aesthetics, extremely cheesy as they feel today, they're the prime reason to revive the brand. Unfortunately, things weren't all that much better back in 2005-ish. What ended up happening was you got a lot of so-called journalists who were there mostly to get drunk on any given company's dime, party with games on the show floor for a few days, and do precious little for ANYONE'S legitimate or illegitimate interests to justify being there. The show has been going downhill for a long time.

The first time with Keanu, it was funny, it did fit the moment perfectly. But after that, it got SO bad. It's always the same thing with humans. One thing works and everyone then jumps at the thing like a bunch of crazy hyenas. They can't let one dude have a cool moment, they all go "ME ME ME WANT TOO!!" and have to ruin it for everyone. What I worry about is when E3's significance as a video games trade show finally goes under, as more passionate consumers slowly but surely wise up to the triple-A industry's antics and turn their backs. Devolver and Imagos Films may be more hard-pressed to find material to satirize at the scale they're currently doing. But I guess that's good as well, because that means Devolver can, for a time being, focus back on simply being a more conscientious publisher, instead of also as a consumer sounding fork.

The game itself looks terrible without any gameplay demo. The worst part is Crystal Dynamics refused to fix or touch up their game after the criticism. Part of it was because of the marvel fanboys defending the atrocious look of the game. I love it when people criticized the character models in the preview and got bombarded with "THIS ISN'T THE MCU. IF YOU'RE A TRUE MARVEL COMIC FAN, YOU WILL ACCEPT THIS." Like no... the costume are ripped straight out from the MCU and the facial models look bland and lifeless. A stacked cast of famous voice actors all sound like the are phoning in. There's no passion. The whole game just feel bland, like a watered-down version of their movie counterpart. They try to be like the MCU movies, without any of the charm in the MCU movies.

Conference killed my hype for the game. In my opinion it's very likely it will have micro transactions. I voiced my concerns straight after the conference and got some really tough responses. I didn't realise I was such an unreasonable person for just wanting complete games on launch. DLC is fine. Just don't plan any before launch, otherwise people will rightfully think it should be in the game.

The one who yelled "HOLY!" at the end of the Final Fantasy 14: Shadowbringers trailer, might have been genuine. I was on Discord with my FC of the game and watched E3 "together", and most of us reacted quite similar... The final words were a huge plot-twist (I know a lot of people theorized about it, but was still huge to a lot of people). Among all the hecklers, I think that one might have actually been genuine, and not just an attempt to gain attention.... Of course I could be wrong.
