My opinion: - It's unfair to name this award after Barbara Dex. Her dress in 1993 wasn't that bad. Besides, her song was really beautiful and criminally underrated. - Some costumes seem quite OK for me. It's a show after all and it would be boring if people would wear only "normal" clothes on the stage. I admit, some look really horrible though. - From today's point of view, many outfits from 80s would get this award, they look just awful 😉. - North Macedonia deserved to qualify in 2018.

1997: Those colors are so '90s, it hurts. 1998: Intentionally old-fashioned and ugly, I wager. 1999: Lose that "heart" and add a belt, and this could work. 2000: There were worse that year, but this whole entry is beige incarnate. 2001: At least he lost that coat part-way through, but what's with the back-up singers' headpieces?! 2002: It was a concept, at least. A bulky, sweaty concept. 2003: Not bad, per se, just lazy. 2004: The hair? Bad. The bodice? Bad. Together? Awful! 2005: And taking the award of "Ugliest Coat" from 2001? This dusty mess! 2006: Similar pieces do not equal cohesion, especially when each look is equally terrible. 2007: Oh, come on! This is classic camp! 2008: The Andorran Queen of the Metallic Ants. 2009: You can find this in any LGBT club. Big deal. 2010: It takes a great talent to pull off those coattails and those bangs. 2011: Surprised she can move in that stiff thing. 2012: It's art!
