Had one of those Thunder.22s a few years back, only difference was mine was what they called a nickel finish (brushed) and like yours it just ate like a fat man at an all you can eat buffet!😉 Completely reliable and very accurate. I bought a stainless TPH back in the day. Before I bought it I told the owner of the gunshop that I would buy it provided it would shoot a full mag. without jamming. He took it out back and I heard a bang and a little time went by before it went bang again. He came back as the gun had jammed 4 times. He gave it to his gunsmith who said the chamber was rough. He polished it and it would work just fine with stingers, but choked on everything else. What a piece of junk. God bless you too.

I've been wanting me a non-target .22 pistol and this might be it. Not too interested in an Ruger SR22 or the Walther P22, I like the classic look of the Bersa.

I have a Bersa Thunder Plus in 380 and have run 1,000 rounds through it. It’s super reliable and has become my EDC. I’d like to pick up the Bersa .22 and think it would be a great value…the Walther, Ruger and Smith and Wesson .22 approach $500 and even $600 sometimes. I’m counting on it being as reliable as my 380. Bersa has been in business for a few decades so it’s not like they just showed up on the gun scene and started cranking out crap. They feel solid in the hand and for a small gun, they don’t feel small.

My Bersa .22 started out finnicky, But after a break in it shoots well with everything but Auto match.

I almost bought a PPK/S BUT thank God I discovered the Bersa BUT I got one better than the Thunder. They made a model 644 which is an ALMOST replica of the Beretta 70S. It's a single action only PPK/S-Beretta 70S with a STEEL FRAME. Those Aluminum frame guns are supposed to only last 5000 rounds before the frame cracks. The 644 eats everything and is a REAL STEEL GUN like a 1932 Colt or Walther wartime made.

Thanks, George, you’ve given us another informative review. I wish Walther hadn’t done the .22 LR PPK/S on the cheap. I would not buy one. The stainless steel PPK, in .380 Auto that I recently bought is a machinist’s work of art and has performed flawlessly.

You got a bad Walther. Mine cycles flawlessly with full magazines as long as I'm shooting high velocity rounds as recommended. I saw a video a few years ago where the poster successfully shot standard velocity rounds in one by spraying the ammo first with silicone and letting it dry.

I think the Walther PPK has some design flaw. Mine was in .380 and and would feed jam after 3 or 4 rounds. I thought it was due to magazine spring compression, being a used Interarms gun made in the 1970's probably and I assumed the owner left it loaded for decades. I got frustrated and got rid of it so I guess I never know for sure....

I read that the .22 PPK was not actually made by Walther. I have a PPK in 380 (Smith and Wesson version), and it is my favorite.

My PPK/S runs like a top on CCI Standard Velocity and Stingers, and Remington Golden Bullet. I use good, ol' GI LSA lube on everything I own.

I always use CCI stingers 8n my 22lr guns. I come to find out that my bersa thunder 22lr works good with any ammo that has high velocity. Subsonic doesn't really work well in it

Not being a fan of Any polymer firearms, it's a shame about the Walther ppk My Colt Gold Cup 1911-22 (Walther made) has been flawless with Thunderbolt, Mini Mags and Federal Hi velocity .....run 16 rounds like greased lightning (Tyler Tactical magazine modifications)
