George , that's a great idea you have in making a range rod. You can find outer shotgun kits at Flea markets and garage sales on the cheap end. T.C. is making a comeback in January of 2025.

Thanks for chatting about RIA. I have a RIA 1911 in .45 ACP and it runs great. I also have an Armscor 1911 that is also fun, but I think it needs a new recoil spring. I've heard that RIA uses some of the old tooling that was used during WW2 to make their 1911s, so they are one of the closest representations of the GI 1911. I'm also quite accurate with the RIA 1911 as well at 15 yards.

Just a correction- Rock Island Armory was the name of a company in Colona, IL. They named as a takeoff on the Rock Island Arsenal, which is nearby in the middle of the Mississippi (and has an excellent firearm collection and museum). The company and name were purchased by Armscor in the Philippines in the mid 80s. The concrete battleship you spoke of is called Fort Drum and was built in the early 1900s. It was part of a series of fortifications, including Corregidor and others, which were built to guard the entrance to Manilla Bay. Hope you are doing well, take care

States that have so called constitutional carry have a responsibility to find a way to provide firearms safety training in public schools. I'm in one of these states and we have tons of very dangerous ijits who know nothing about firearms but who are walking around with pistols loose in hoodie pockets or rattling around in car consoles. The idea of a well-armed militia was to have armed citizens who actually know how to use firearms safely and effectively. Minutemen is the ideal, and not everybody is ready to be one.

As I recall, the advent of the 59 & 39 caused kind of a poop storm among some of the Colt gov't model people. The gun magazines were awash with pros and con articles.......I had a couple accidental double taps when I first got my Glock 43X. Never had them with other Glocks. ...Always look forward to your input.
