I love your intro talk in the beginning. Spot on! I've been there without a trolling motor. Me and my partner had a team tournament on Wheeler Lake which is 2 1/2 hours from home for us. The day before the tournament my partner was trolling between two grass beds wide open when we hit a sand bar and broke the shaft on the trolling motor. We couldn't find a replacement so we fished the tournament without one. Luckily for us practice was very tough (July) and we only had one spot where we got quality bites and it was a big deep flat in the mouth of one of the creeks on the lower end. We would start on one end and let the wind push us across it and idle back and start over. We did this all day and by the end of the tournament we had 15.91lbs and won first place by 4lbs. It's my favorite memory of any bass tournament I've ever fished because we got laughed at that morning at the ramp before take off.

You have to be so very proud of Brevyn and not just because he is an excellent fisherman, which he absolutely is. But for what a fine young man he is. He is respectful, polite, well spoken and so very well behaved! You and your wife are to be commended on raising him and it is so obvious what a great relationship you and Brevyn have. I think that your approach to fishing with him is right on the money. First of all you are spending time with him that he will remember forever, but you are also teaching him life lessons and supporting him in whatever he chooses to do. There is no doubt that he will be successful at whatever he does in life. I absolutely LOVED this video! Fish your roots. Go back to the basics, love it! Just remember life is like fishing. We are all trying to catch something we can't see, "it's hard". Love watching you and Brev fish!! Fishing teaches our kids so much!! Patience is one of the best things I learned and I’m teaching my son. It builds so much character for all of us. I took my son hunting and after about 30 minutes he said, “Dad, I’m freezing, can we go ride the 4 wheeler instead”? 😂. Of course we can!! He has t hunted since but he loves that 4 wheeler!!😂. B keep it up! My son turned 21 yesterday and took him and his girlfriend fishing this morning. I suck at bass but we caught at least 70 bream this morning. Built a close bond with my son fishing, hunting and playing little league. Time has flown but we have sooo many memories in nature! I believe it made him the awesome man he is becoming!

Love watching your videos Brian. You are a Brotha fishing professionally and an absolute family man, bringing your son up with an actual skill and discipline. Sad to say that there are so many aspects of your videos that are so rare to see these days. My nephew is not into fishing and Ive always hated it, but he does love shooting. Like fishing, shooting teaches a so many things that are just relevant to life in general. Focus, Safety, Planning, critiquing, so I do love that he enjoys shooting. I do a friendly steal challenge with a group of shooters in my circle and their kids. 2 runs for each adult and kid. Average parents times with kids times, and of course the best time wins and takes the pot. There are usually 10 of us. 5 parents and 5 kids. Each adult puts in 20 for themselves and 10 for the kid. So the winner gets the 160 dollar pot, plus the kid with the best average time gets 10 bucks from each adult. We've been doing these steal challenges bi-annually for a couple of years now. Last month, my nephew and I won our second one, but he also won the best kids average time for the first time. He was ecstatic. Im thinking maybe he will buy a new trigger or some nice sights for his gun, or even some ammo. Nope! This boy bought a pair of jeans. Watching you guys win and what Brev chose to buy with his share reminded me of that lol.
