Well, I tried and failed at this. I scrolled back through the last 2 years of my books on StoryGraph. Lots of books I read because of the author/series. TONS of books I read because of BookTube. Not a single book I would say I read because of the title. I can't even really picture a title that would make me buy a book without more to recommend it. I'll head to Heather and Tahlia's channels to see what captured them. Have good week!

Same here, Debbie! That's why I did my own spin on, from books already on my TBR bookcase. I don't think I've ever picked a book because of its title.

@@SueJacksonDE After watching Tahlia's video, I actually came up with a couple old examples. She reminded me that there was a time when it wasn't so easy to know more about a book than the title and a blurb. About 30 years ago, I think I did read "The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat" based on the title. Great book, but you have to be comfortable with learning about the myriad ways your brain/body can betray you. Also, if we go even further back (50 years!), I feel confident that I read "From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler" because of the title. I loved telling people the title while I was reading it. (Also a great book.) Since I don't do TBRs, I can only do this for books I've already read. I guess my captivating title days are now in the past. Glad I remembered those 2 at least. Thanks for the prompt, Sue!

I listened to The Blood of Flowers a while ago and it is a fantastic book--I think you will really like it. However, definitely read it and don't listen to it! The narrator is Shohreh Aghdashloo (the actress) and she does a good job of performing it, but she has a "whiskey and cigarettes" voice that doesn't really fit with the young woman narrator!

Glad to hear you liked it! And thanks for the warning - I'll definitely read this one in print since my friend gave it to me. I hate when a narrator doesn't match what you picture (and love when the narrator is PERFECT, like for Demon Copperhead and The House on the Cerulean Sea).
