Yeah looking at the battle plans in the context of the GHB tactics will be really useful. It would also be useful to look at key units for each faction based on the battle tactics. For Sylvaneth, it used to be common to take a unit of Tree Revenants to teleport around and fulfill battle tactics. But now I can see taking two units to be fully dedicated to battle tactics. I also see tree lords being good for fighting and not dying. Put them in the generals regiment to make it hard for your opponent to complete Slay the Entourage. Stuff like that.

Great idea. I do wonder whether it'll be complete enough of a guide though, if we attempted to add specific units to that for each army. We know our own armies well and Ryan definitely knows a lot about all the other armies too, but there might be some units that slip through the net and then we'd have some disappointed viewers that their army specific unit did not make it to the list. So there's that risk... But I like the idea overall! We might suggest some units while we're at it, without writing them all down 😎

With time to get stuck in. Just by charging you are allowed to use the fight ability even if there’s no enemy unit there. So that’s not quite as bad as you imagined. Although i think it is probably one of the hardest

Oh, would that count though? Doesn't it say they need to use the Fight ability? And that ability has no enemy targets if everyone's dead, right? I could be wrong here. Sure hope I am, for the sake of all the destruction players out there 😁

@@strategoi yeah it says in core rule you can fight if you charged. Just like it is in 3rd now.

The fight ability clearly says "pick a unit that is in combat or charged this turn" to pile in and attack I doesn't matter if you do your melee attack or not you can still use the ability

You may want to check your source re: "Take the Flanks". According to the Warcom article, the units need only be 'within' (i.e. not 'wholly within' 6"). I think it's an important distinction with big tactical implications compared to the old "Surround and Destroy" tactic. 1) it allows units with very large 160mm bases (e.g. Arachnarok Spiders) to score it, and 2) it means that any units that helped score this tactic are able to remain much closer to centre of the table. ~Cheers!

Yeah, I think Jonas just had a typo there. Sometimes retyping everything into PowerPoint to make it look nice for you guys introduces errors. But yeah, our source does in fact say just within, and when we talked about it in an earlier video, we did mention it as such. Also, when we were talking about it here (or at least when I was), we had just within 6” in our heads. Thanks for pointing it out though for people that didn’t know!

Loved the video, thanks for making good content! Not sure I agree completely with honor guards, I think it might be the best in some factions. Especially if you only want 1 unit in your gen.reg. to not give up a tactic. And if you can get any -1 to hit/wound in there too, you can have some very durable units that will challenge your opponent to attack them

About bodyguard you mean? I definitely agree with your point. -1 Attack is amazing on a defensible unit. I just don't like being that it's so reactionary, y'know what I'm saying? You can't have charged, so you're kinda allowing your opponent to dictate when that ability is gonna work.

@strategoi that's what I meant, yes :) I definitely see your point as well, but I think we can see some great results with it. Especially with smaller objectives I think there's even more value to a sturdy block of resilient models just camping on an objective. Will be exciting to follow the meta for sure
