I’ve always loved feeder fishing. Even retro cage feeder has always done the business for me. Pleasure sessions on oak tree at messingham sands and catching 150lb+ on a Saturday. Prep always done at home and literally fishing in mins. That was back in the days when I could disappear at 6am before the kids arrived. Good video guys. I must dust the feeder rod off and have a go!

Great video lads. I have only been fishing since January but regularly now fish with my retired neighbour and his friends. They all fish feeder, £5 a head and spend the day chatting, drinking tea and watching the tip. Great days fishing.

Got my ticket for Nick’s match at Meadowlands. Looking forwards to it more than any other match in my calendar simply because of the increased chance of actually reaching a final. This has got to be the way to go so that Mr Average has a chance to compete with the pro’s. Another great video guy’s. More please!

Really enjoyed your outlook on feeder fishing,I’m 77years old and fish club matches on the feeder and win my fare share,started fishing the bomb on the canal years ago with 7ft rods for skimmers,progressed to Rudyard lake,

this was just brilliant. defo one of my fav vids. would be perfect for me, I'd love to get into match fishing but It's just too much gear and time I don't have to spare. feeder matches would be perfect. up to clubs really to start putting on more of them type of match. I'll defo be looking out for them in the future.

Bang on with the zig comment. I've often wondered about using them to get up un the water a bit. No reason you can't catapult some pellets or somthing over the top.
@brianpeck37162 жыл бұрын
The reason I feeder fish is you do not need to spend loads of money on gear ,of course you can if you want. But you can get a reasonably priced rod and reel for under fifty quid

Great listen to you guys basically nattering. I come from a specimen fishing back ground but often fish matches in the winter time and to be honest im just pools fodder if its a pole dominated venue.But if its a venue where the feeder works then yes Im on a level playing field. Shame I live in the south because the feeder league at Lindholme would suit me down to the ground.

I all so love feeder fishing, but over here in Suffolk we do not have the amount of fisheries that you have in the midlands, and would have to travel at least three hrs to go to a big feeder qualifier,

Has for the zig rig feeder fishing how about use floating pellets and floating caster's with atomic cloud ground bait in ur feeder so as it come's out it float up to ur bait

Lots of people can relate to Feeder fishing because it’s a rod rather than messing about with polls less tackle to take to the bank as well

When would you use a wand ?? I always had good results from shy skimmers on the Bridgewater around Kelly's
@RichardDommett2 жыл бұрын
Love feeder fishing. Would you always clip up for accuracy just worried about getting them big ones running and hitting the clip?
@buckrichard76902 жыл бұрын
Use a wide elastic band. If you hook a big fish it will still be able to pull line off the reel.
@RichardDommett2 жыл бұрын
@@buckrichard7690 just booked on for larford goldenrod at my age [50] I cant hold a pole for very long and the feeder matches seem the way to go for the older fisherman wanting to match fish
@buckrichard76902 жыл бұрын
@@RichardDommett I’m 55 and really only fish my club’s natural waters and nearly always with a feeder. The elastic band works a treat though. I’ve entered a charity match (I never match fish) at Tunnel Barn Farm in a few weeks and went for a practice session today. I was using an old style Preston Banjo feeder and the tip ripped round. Heard a long ping and thought I’d been done then I saw my elastic band land about 10m’s out. Reeled in the slack to find my fish still on. Obviously, the band ending up in the lake isn’t ideal but it’s the first time it’s happened to me.

Bang on about zigs. Will tear feeder matches apart if allowed 😉
@markboyer42212 жыл бұрын
Mr speed I’m just a pleasure angler maybe 10-15x a year ( used to be 30-50 ) .. could I enter one as I love fishing but never entered a match . Dont matter if I blank as I can learn as even if I draw between you and Jamie id never blame that id say I fished it wrong and it’s a learning curve ps I am 51 and been fishing 20yrs but love it.. I have emptied ponds and I have got 5Lb so I just fish for fun .. Thankyou ..

Check out the firsttimefishing channel. He has a charity match on 26 June at Tunnel Barn Farm. Ideal for a first match.
@majmat2 жыл бұрын
You can find open matches near you and just fish a feeder and easily frame. Anyone can enter these feeder matches, you just need to get a ticket as fast as you can, as they sell out quite fast.
@philedwards15242 жыл бұрын
A great video Rich, as usual, but can I be cheeky and ask you for a cap for a charity match, which I am attending on June 26th, we will be putting in sealed bids for items that other top anglers have donated, all the money collected will go to the Cancer and Pisces trust. I do hope you will at least think about my request, and get the lads to sign it for me PLEASE.
