cam lenny Herbert Hoover couldn’t, Churchill needed FDR anyways. I mean it’s apparent you have British Exceptionalism on your mind but Churchill led you in dark times and that was about it. Did virtually nothing on the home front when the war ended. Even caused Gallipoli, sending thousands to their deaths.

In my opinion there are three great leaders of the 20th Century and perhaps of all times. Great Britain has two of them Winston Churchill and Margret Thatcher. The third Ronald Regan belongs to the USA, but the greatest was Churchill.

the French did't turn and run in the battle of France. They were almost all killed.About 85,000 French kia and 12,000 mia never recovered so they are presumed kia.for about 97,000 kia and about 360,000 total casualties in a few weeks !! Yeah they fought and died to darn near the last man. What was left of the French army held the germans back enough to buy the british time at Dunkirk.
