This ad was first seen in early 1955 (usually on "THE BOB CUMMINGS SHOW", which was sponsored by R.J. Reynolds, the makers of "Winston"). Most actors and actresses have appeared in TV commercials, early in their careers, to "pay the bills" and gain exposure and credits for their resumes...and Garner was no exception!

I've been smoking them for years. They still have the same effect, ie: delivering a metered dose of nicotine to my nicotine receptors, but I gotta admit that occasionally, every now and then, they taste like shit. Probably because RJ Reynolds sold out to some even bigger conglomerated clusterfuck of corporate fascism called "ITG Brands." I smoke because I smoke, not because some commercial told me to. And no silly anti-smoking commercial can make me quit. Either way, it's still up to me, not Uncle Sam! Folks need to realize that nobody can make anybody do or not do anything. The decision is always up to the individual, never to the government.

Winston,Marlboro,and Lark cigarettes all used to have their own unique flavor to their cigarettes, which made smoking actually fun. Unfortunatly the government put an end to that enjoyment by adding all these nauseating additiives & chemicals to the once fine textured tobacco causing even the most loved cigarette smoker to finally give them up. It wouldn't hurt to smoke an unblemished natural old fashioned Camel the it was originally intended to be smoked compared to the purposely poisened brands available today.

Speaking as a guy that's smoked for about half of his life, you're full of shit. Smokes still taste different between manufacturers and it's got nothing to do with additives put in by the government. It's the 20 different kinds of tobacco they use in different amounts. If anything, it's the other way around: Government BANNED adding flavouring to cigarrettes other than menthol.

Also, additives or no additives, smoking's still harmful as it fills your lungs up with tar. There's a reason they tell you to stay low in a house fire.
