I would LOVE to see more cross stitch here! Your projects are awesome! Regarding samplers - I think they are pretty but they ALL look the same to me lol. I am doing a SAL, the 12 days of Christmas by the Vivsters on Etsy. I'm trying to do a block a month. It calls for 3 strands, which is such a PAIN, but the coverage is amazing!

Thanks so much!! I tend to agree with you on your assessment of samplers. :) Your SAL sounds so fun!! I would love to see it when you're all finished!

I have been stitching a long time but got away from it a long time!Definitely going down the rabbit hole right now after watching UTuber Diamond Painters that also stitch! SO many beautiful patterns and fabric- really trying to rein myself in - oh my! 💕

Yea more cross stitch on your channel! It's my other favorite craft, next to diamond painting. I am a monogamist stitcher but the only two projects I have set down for extended periods are Dimensions Gold patterns. You are correct they are a challenge! While I can handle the confetti, it's the pressure of having a set amount of thread included in the kit so you cannot really travel with the floss.😃
@tinyworldsofwonder2 жыл бұрын
OMG - yay! It is so fun! Great job keeping your project count low. It is really so much more efficient. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks Dimensions are challenging. You're absolutely right about the floss - I ran out of two colors in this piece and had to sub out DMC. The areas are small, so I don't think it's obvious, but YIKES! :)

For Woodland Castle, take the chart and blow it up, printing it in color. I had the same problem identifying the symbols, but after copying at 200% and 400% helped. You use a lot of paper, but it's worth it. You can write the # which coincides with the color from your floss cards.

This is a great idea, Laurel!! That is definitely happening!

Loved seeing your cross stitch WiPs and haul. I've just returned to cross stitch after numerous years in the wilderness due to carpel tunnel but had the op and thrilled to be stitching again. Just starting my first sampler from Long Dog, The New Normal and also a full coverage of Puffins. Thought your teddies were so cute and pansies are lovely.

Thanks so much, Jill! I'm so glad you're able to get back to stitching!! :)

I can vouch for Yarn Stories on Etsy. I have purchased about 6 kits from her, and been very pleased.

I love "A Row of Love" 🧸I collected Teddy Bears as a kiddo. I have a latch hook rug of Winnie the Pooh that I started for my oldest son's nursery and never finished it. As of this Friday he graduated from the Fire Academy👨🚒 He's 19! I also have a 16-year-old son and a 14-year-old son. They all have the same nursery theme and I never finished that latch hook of Winnie the Pooh. Perhaps once they start having their kids I can give it to a grand baby?! Lol 😂

😂😂😂 I can identify completely as you could tell from this video! Time sure does get away from us!

I agree. Make a working copy on a printer for the patterns that are tiny. I do this with Mira s all the time.

Okay, yes!! That is a great idea! Do you ever struggle with finding the position for each page?

As many crafters/ hobbyist I love cross stitch though I can't seem to get it. I have tried and failed but of course before I figured out I would fail I bought all sorts of fin accessories...bobbin machine, plastic card organizers, 3 stitching hoops and regular scroll, floor scroll 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️ etc. I don't take long to jump in the rabbit hole😂😂😂😂 I even tried beaded cross stitch🤫🤫🥴🥴🥴but no go😂. I love all of your products though especially the teddy bears and poppy flowers🥰🥰

Thanks so much, my friend!! I completely acknowledge that cross stitch is bloody hard!! I am definitely not an expert, and my work would never stand up to close scrutiny compared to some of the stitching gods/goddesses out there!

For Woodland Castle, perhaps you can scan it and save it as a PDF. Then you can blow up the sections as you need them. If you have the option while scanning it in, go for the highest dpi you have available.
@tinyworldsofwonder2 жыл бұрын
I will definitely try that! Great idea!

I’m a cross stitcher for some years now… but I’m kind of needing really little break from it, and as a break guess what I found… diamond painting. LoL Lately I’ve been stitching a lot of lavender and lace, mill hill and dimensions kits, golden kite and artery patterns. Current wip’s: Angel of Love, by Lavender and Lace; Lady in Prayer, pattern by Artecy, and Garden of Delight, pattern by Golden Kite (and this one doing it in tapestry size).

I think the Secret Garden would look lovely with an uneven tea stained aida. But I also don't know a lot about dyed aida, so I might be way off base. 💛
@tinyworldsofwonder2 жыл бұрын
Ooh, like an old book page. I agree. That would be INCREDIBLE!
@laurelbrennan62952 жыл бұрын
On the Secret Garden, instead of starting over, could you spot dye the background using a light tan using cotton balls. Test on a corner to see how the fabric reacts.
@tinyworldsofwonder2 жыл бұрын
I wonder if I could? That could be an interesting experiment, because even if it goes wrong I could always start over. :)
@houndstoothdinosaur2 жыл бұрын
I think the Secret Garden would look gorgeous on a hand dyed tan linen! Although it really doesn't look bad on the fabric you're currently using :)
@tinyworldsofwonder2 жыл бұрын
I TOTALLY agree! Like an old book page sort of?
@ellesaaltjejenneke54002 жыл бұрын
I wouldn’t put a mat around the teddy bear project. I feel it makes it more old fashioned in this case, like the stitched border that was around it. For the secret garden, there is someone on IG (can’t think of who right now) who has a beige/yellowy modeled fabric which is pretty. It’s a pretty busy pattern so your fabric works well too. You could take a picture of the chart and enlarge it. Or you could save the picture in a PDF file, so you could use them in a PDF reader. Pattern keeper has an option for importing pictures now though I haven’t tried that (I bought a cheap android device specifically for the app 🤔🤣).
@tinyworldsofwonder2 жыл бұрын
Those are awesome ideas!! Very good point about the teddies. :) I agree that beige would be great for the Secret Garden. Maybe it would look like an old parchment page. :) I'm definitely going to give enlarging it a try! :) Thanks SO MUCH for your great feedback!

I went down the cross stitching hole also. I have a DP started but keep going to my cross stitching instead. Maybe some day I will go back to it again. I will not do a Dimension kit. They make me to frustrated lol
@tinyworldsofwonder2 жыл бұрын
These Dimensions kits are so fiddly. I am enjoying the little ones though. Maybe it's because I can handle annoyance in small doses. 🤣 I like the variety of the crafting back and forth as well. 😁

New subscriber here. We have some things in common. I don't feel so bad for having 15 yr old cross stitch wips. 😅 Like you I think dimension kits are hard but the Thomas Kinkade designs are worse for me. I don't like samplers either. Love crochet and knitting.
@tinyworldsofwonder2 жыл бұрын
Hi there and welcome! I'm glad I'm not alone with the dimensions thing - or the 15 yo WIPS! More power to us who stitch in our own time! :)

My issue with buying kits is always the tiny pattern. Like y can’t they give u a digital one too so u can zoom in. Or at least make pages
@tinyworldsofwonder2 жыл бұрын
RIGHT!?! Some companies like Scarlet Quince and HAED offer this now, but I wish companies like Dimensions would prove a QR code to the digital pattern. Maybe they're trying to prevent theft. :(
