Very cool video! How far north are u(?) - doesn't seem too snowy from my Michigan perspective. When u shoot a bear, is it edible or just skinned for warm clothing or a rug? Ur pretty courageous - bears can climb trees, aren't u a bit concerned an angry bear might climb up to attack u in a blind? Wow, love this video! ❤

I am in mid Northern Ontario. This video was filmed during a thaw, we have way more snow now. Its my first time hunting bear, it does make me nervous but I will be prepared. You can eat the meat, its delicious. Funnily enough, bears are related to pigs! So their meat is quite good.

@strawberrymoonhomestead I had literally NO IDEA - we've laughed bc one of our nominees by Pres Trump (Robert F Kennedy Jr) is known for eating bear. He has a story online that will make u roll ur eyes (dumped it in Central Park basically). I've just never heard they're edible other than that recent story. We all felt he had a screw loose or worm in his brain still. I think No Ontario might be same latitude as the Upper Peninsula. I love Canada so much! Great memories in Toronto, etc.

@sandybowman7140 oh dear I'll have to look that up. Ya it's pretty good! Needs to be cooked well though. If I can get one its another way to feed my family. Ya depending on where you are in Michigan, you may be more north than I am. Thanks! We love it here too!

@@strawberrymoonhomestead Occasionally in Spring we get young black bears that our DNR need to capture in the City & release in the wild farther north. They're typically found by accident by a barking dog & they're up in a tree. Sometimes they come around a family porch or deck. I love living where it's cold - just put on more layers, eh? 🥶🙋♀️❄️🌲☃️✋️❤️

@sandybowman7140 oh wow. We get a lot in our cabin area as well, its a small enough area that people just deal with it as long as they don't become dangerous. Same here. I adore the snow, I think its so magical.

So you can bait the wildlife to kill? Where I am in the PNW we can’t do that and if caught it is a big fine and loss of hunting privileges.

Not when actually hunting. It brings the wildlife to the area though through the rest of the year. But thats why I am switching to more of a food plot as a natural attractant.
