Ripper video mate ! Never thought of using a float stop to set the keeper hook up where I want it - added that one to my bag of tricks ! Never fished red head , used to end up at stocko mostly or up around Harrington .
@anglinguntangled3 жыл бұрын
Cheers mate, and yeah pretty happy with that little rig, adjustable to fit the bait, enough tension to make sure it all stays straight, and just slides down when setting the hook plus the bead protects the knot so no need to snell the bottom hook. Hard to beat stocko but redhead can have its days, just steer clear in school holidays 👍🏼

Great video mate. Do you have a video on how to attached a "wind on leader", to braid?
@anglinguntangled2 жыл бұрын
Cheers mate! No I’ve stayed away from knot videos cos there are so many out there and the GoPro’s I use have terrible close focus anyway. I almost always use an FG knot for joining braid and leader unless I’m in a hurry the I’ll use the improved Albright knot. The FG is up there in terms of time and effort but is well worth learning. There’s a couple of different methods for it but I find the teeth one easiest especially for light lines 👍🏼

Hey mate, good vids where do u get ur hook stoppers from any info would be great thanks keep up the good work
@StuartBishop-pm2cx2 жыл бұрын
All good mate just read in ur comments that they r float stops 👍
@anglinguntangled2 жыл бұрын
Cheers mate. What you’re after are float stoppers which are used for luderick fishing and almost every tackle shop would have them including the big name ones. Small to medium size ones will suit line upto 20lb and you can double them up if using thin line and finding one isn’t holding well 👍🏼
@tobiasreimann14243 жыл бұрын
Hey mate, great idea with the float stopper. Could you tell me what tide you were fishing please?

Great knot, the FG, not the easiest to tie - good vid 👍🏻
@anglinguntangled3 жыл бұрын
Yeah best one I know by a long shot. I’ve picked up a couple tips if you use the teeth method. First I tie a granny knot in the end of the braid so I don’t have to pinch so hard with my teeth, and start the first wrap towards you. That way the last wrap is away and the half hitch locks down better 👍🏼
@markmay1843 жыл бұрын
I’ll give that a whirl 👍🏻

Gday, just wanted to chime in and say I think your videos are great and I really enjoy watching them. I’ve caught a lot of tailor and salmon off the local beaches but hardly any bream so was happy to watch and try to learn a bit more. One thing do you think your main hook is a bit big for a bream? I see people using much smaller hooks. Cool idea for your little hook placement with the stopper, I’ll give that a run. Cheers and thanks.
@anglinguntangled3 жыл бұрын
Cheers mate much appreciated. I wouldn’t want to go any bigger than a 5/0 if chasing bream specifically, but you’d be surprised what baits they can scoff down and I’ve even got a few big bream on 8/0 hooks meant for jewies. 5/0’s just have a wide enough gape so you can go through the pillie and have some hook showing out the other side but smaller hooks and going in and out the same side would work as well. Using salmon or tailor strips and a smaller hook would be great as well I just wanted to use pillies cos everyone can get them. Cheers again!

Do you have to cast far or just cast into the gutter right in front of you ?
@anglinguntangled2 жыл бұрын
Being able to reach the back of the gutter is good cos they might be hanging there but a lot of the time bream are just behind the shore break
@HWW1472 жыл бұрын
Do you find the tide makes a big difference ??
@anglinguntangled2 жыл бұрын
Usually, it doesn’t affect the fishing too much. I think over the high end of the tide works better and on the odd occasion the bream will shut down completely or more likely exit the gutter when the water gets too low
