Looks like a great place to camp. Maybe put down a thick tarp on the tent floor to avoid the mud. Maybe one bigger than the circumference of the tent that you could cover up the gap at the bottom. That's something to consider in future winter tent camping. I'm glad you didn't let Ellie do a polar bear plunge into the river. She's a waterdog that loves to swim in any season. Her sleeping bag was so incredibly cute. So happy to see you and Ellie out enjoying such an epic riverside campsite. 🤩 🙏🐾

In addition to the tarp, might consider getting some thicker mil plastic used for painting, enhance with masking tape up on the inside of the tent. Ground cloth / tarp could enhance the ground coverage. Consider putting the stove over some solid materials like flat local rocks to absorb heat. Otherwise frozen ground could melt and add water to the inside of the tent.

It's good to see Ellie doing so well! Personally, I think it's kinda nuts to go camping in a tent in the winter! And the sides didn't even touch the ground to try and block the wind from whistling through! Oh, my goodness! I'll just have to live vicariously through you. I never found camping to be appealing, but it's actually kinda nice to see what other people do and see them enjoying it. Overall, i find your videos rather soothing. And it's always good to see Ellie!

I liked your tent camping video, having been a tent camper as a child, and with my children and grandchildren for years. Consider using a tarp if the tent doesn’t have a bottom. Wise words about stress! I , unfortunately, am known for pushing myself until I have a “come apart” , like your bike trailer 😢. I have lots going on physically with healing from surgery, my mom is in hospice and I have a rigorous career. I made a decision to postpone my plan to get another certification on my license. I felt so much better knowing that I made a decision to focus on myself and family. I am finally learning to “manage my expectation” of myself. Anxiety is sometimes a beast of our own making by pushing to keep control. God is in control and I am learning that everyday!

Great post! I continue to enjoy your beautiful filming and editing. The river is so peaceful and beautiful and I love Ellie's sleeping bag. So cute! Seeing you sleep in that tent with no floor and all the mud brought back so many memories of camping in the rain. Everything always just felt cold and damp and honestly those were miserable nights in the tent. The stove looked fabulous and I'm sure it made it feel as cozy as it could feel. It's amazing all of the different things they have now for camping. What you said about stress is so true. Sometimes it's very challenging to let go and let God. Yes do sprinkle in some camping adventures as we love camping ourselves and we are both nearly 70 years old. Of course we camp in Caravan and Camping Parks with toilets, showers etc and try to have some creature comforts of home in our large tent but we still love the outdoors so much. I love the wind and fresh air and just the relaxing lifestyle. We bought both of our children up camping and they still both do it with their own families. Maybe a ground cover under your tent would help with it not to be muddy or damp. We always have one as it keeps our tent in good order. We don’t camp in summer here as we are having a very hot summer of temperatures in the 30’s up to 40’s degrees Celsius and it’s just way too hot in a tent but for the rest of the year it’s awesome. The mud inside the tent in this one looked grim to spoiled, pampered old me! But it's only through new experiences, that we get new perspective on the old and familiar. I've been so worried about your dear Ellie since her recent near miss with water at a different location. I know you love her dearly as the family member she is, and take beautiful care of her. You are so good at building the cabins, I think a bike trailer wouldn't be too hard to make, or you could look into a motorcycle trailer. Ellie sure looks good and she seemed happy in her sleeping bag.

I love the spot you found. I remember it from your previous video. What a peaceful place; with the river running in the background and nature all around you. Ellie is such a joy and how cute she is in her own little sleeping 😴 bag. The survival cabin from the previous video was ok but I'm not sure if I would have been able to stay there without worrying about what might have been lurking outside. Hey! That’s what I like👍that’s life! walking in the dark with your lovely dog and staying in a warm tent etc! Adventurous and peaceful at the same time. We had here in Finland last week approximately minus 30 degrees celsius😆you need proper gear and I would say, no sleeping in a tent😊
