This was one of the best fishing trips of my life. All the conditions were right and the hard work payed off and I was rewarded with several trophy sized fish.In this video I share with you some of the techniques that I use to catch big blue catfish during the winter months. I like seeing your interaction with your son and teaching him to fish - my dad did the same to me and gave me fishing knowledge and that time you all are spending is priceless ... I laid my father to rest two months ago. When cancer had my dad down too bad to do anything I even stopped fishing on my boat for 2 years and just spent time watching old movies and fishing videos with him till he passed. Our father son time on the boat he always bragged on so I darn near retired my boat out of emotion- but now I’m getting back to it - he said catch fish for him before he past and to live my life ... My condolences, I know the feeling. I laid my Dad and my Uncle that taught me to fish and had to take a break from our favorite spot to fish out of emotion. I have gone back but mostly fish new waters now.

Teach your son to fish and he will take you when you are old. My son has done this for me as I instilled in him the love of fishing AND eating catfish. WONDERFUL We have had many great trips to local ponds. God Bless You. Trust me, he won't leave you at home on the porch. Plus, HE actually cleans the fish now. Even better. LOL

Good video man I enjoyed it I do a lot of fishing on the lower James RiverI just need to suck it up and go try the winter bite. Always fish from about March threw May but we do really good on cut bait bluegills I keep them alive and fresh until I'm ready to cut them up we catch a lot of fish in the 30 to 50 lb range my buddy caught a 61 pounder and I've called 71 pounder is our best so far almost always blue cats with an occasional channel an striper when they're running
