Winter Boat Fishing - Wreck fishing at anchor is one of my favourite types of fishing. After a long winter of bad weather it really was a pleasure to be able to get the boat out to the wrecks again. I hope you enjoy the video everyone and stay safe. :)

Nostalgia City. Takes me back to being a young kid out on the boat with Dad. We ate mostly food that he brought home, deer, moose and pickerel. I was never fond of fishing but on the few days that Mom couldn't go, I'd go just to keep him company, usually with a book to read. That frustrated him but he rarely commented on my lack of interest in fishing. Every time he *did* comment, I'd throw a line out and in less than 5 casts catch a fish to take home and go back to my book. LOL As an adult now I think "what a little &^%$ I was"! I can still clean a fish with boneless filets though. I hated bones in fish so I made him show me how to filet one. Every time I went out I volunteered to clean them up. Made up for the book reading and ensured that I had some boneless fish to cook :) Just the sound of the water and the hollow sounds of the small boat are soothing. Thanks for sharing :)

- Haha. I have never lost a rod over the side to a fish. I did see one lost during steaming one time. By keeping them low to the boat with only a little bit over the gunwale there is very little chance of them being taken over by a conger or ling.

Here off the East coast of Florida in the South Atlantic Ocean we have lots of tides and currents.On the 30 ft boat I'm on there is a 20 lb anchor and 30 feet of extremely heavy chain.And on alot of occasions you could be anchored just right and have the swells pick up and then start dragging your anchor.Some days we have to anchor on a spot three to four times before it is correct and before you even drop a line.Nice catch again...Take care my friend.Calm seas and tight lines.Oh yeah...yes it's 5:51 am here.My nights are all messed up lately.From your friend across the pond. P.S. - Alot of times when using a live bait on the bottom my rig will be an 8 oz barrel sinker then my swivel and 20 feet of 80 - 100 pound mono with an 8/0 Mustad circle hook. P.S.S.- When I was the first mate on a 90 foot Party fishing boat that would hold up to 100 fisherman alot of times when wreck fishing a fisherman would snag the bottom.Well..if we had 3-4 foot swells that made the boat go up and down the person would think they were fighting a big fish.I'd ask them if they wanted me to get it unsnagged for them they would look at you like you were crazy and say,"Can't you see I'm fighting a big fish!" I'd smile and tell them.."Give it hell.I will check back with you in a bit." I would keep an eye out for them to get really tired..I would ask if they had enough..they would say yes..so I'd give the rod a couple good snaps up and down and free the snag.Sometimes they would look at you and say,"You lost my fish!" I'd reply,"Nope..didn't want you pulling the plug out of the bottom and draining the ocean dry.I don't want to walk 30 miles back to shore.LMAO. CHEERS.

- Several of these sessions I will have to rancher several times as the conditions change. I have seen anglers fight a wreck for a while only to snap off and say they were "bitten off" by a monster. haha. Those who know, know. 😉🎣
