He’s rapidly becoming a star the World over! He really does have quite the personality,doesn’t he? It helps that he’s brilliant too, of course! I’m not biased at all!🐶. You know that finger nail polish remover is acetone? You know those little touch-up bottles of paint they give you with a new car? That’s enamel....(It’s cheaper than fingernail polish!) Now that you have the wet suit, you probably need some weights. It’s great when it all comes together and you’re just floating, stable in one place and don’t have to worry about anything except the fish. Have you seen Peter on Freedom Sailing? He’s really a great diver, spear fishing too...in fact, he’s more fish than any other diver I’ve met! He’s hilarious about talking to the fish about being too ugly, too slow, too dumb, to shoot! Like you did! It’s so good to see you guys going places!!

Little tip when pounding bolts out if your reusing them . Leave the nut on flush with the end of the bolt so you damage the threads, then remove the nut when it's loose. 😎

Congratulations on your first spear fish, they are one of my go to fav eating ....get a dive flag and float so others can see you and your mate will not worry, also a weight belt will compensate for the extra flotation of the wetsuit!

Leave the nut on at the top of the bolt so you don't damage the bolt treads at the head

congrats on the fish a weight belt is next on your list and probably two or three weights this will make it easier to stay down longer, with regard to the moist wood 30 minutes in a warm oven or 10 in the microwave will dry it out well then use epoxy to seal the wood first you can either get the thin epoxy or just thin some regular epoxy, the wood sealing epoxyhas a work time of 40 minutes and goes a long way you just recoat every 5 minutes or so till it stops soaking in works great. cheers and merry christmas to you and yours

Excellent guys, all good fun. Some recommend countersinking the hole in the deck slightly so the butyl gets squeezed into the hole and makes like an O ring seal. I’m sure you will be fine but if they leak still worth a try. At least with butyl it is easy to remove and redo. Yoshi was so cute in the shop, excited by a.l the toys, like a little kid. Stay safe. To get down to them! You want to be neutral Wet suit will always make it hard to dive your always fighting to stay down, making it harder to hunt! Love always Capt Wilkus! P.S. When you're speer fishing when you move the gun through the water to aim, fish can hear and feel it and they will move away. Try holding the gun straight and anticipate were the fish will be and let him move into the shot. You need to stay in one spot and let the fish come to you. If you chase them or move twords them they will run. Hold breath swim down to a depth and wait still and they will come to you.

Hi, great videos, becareful fishing in marinas in spain most of them it’s illegal ,if caught they can take the boat of you,also if you don’t have right papers when boat fishing you can get fined up to 60k welcome to spain lol.all spearfishing you need permits etc for in spain.

When using a hammer to remove bolts, you may want to try leaving the nut on flush with the end of the bolt. Then when you bang the bolt out you don’t risk damaging the threads?

i suggest that you leave the nuts on the end of the bolt and slightly proud of the threaded bolt and hit them to pop the bolt head up, otherwise tapping the bare end of the threaded bolt may mushroom the end, deform the thread start, and prevent a nut going back on. JMHO

What happened in France, regards VAT, boat registration, post-Brixit 90- 180 day travel within EU. There are oil additives for bore wear, increase compression = reduce piston blow-by. keep up the good work. Happy sailing

A float (preferably with a flag) is necessary in an area with boats around, and generally a good safety measure, especially if you go on your own. Weights will help with your diving and reduce efforts (thus conserving energy); adjust weights according to the thickness of your wetsuit (I'd go for black, because silver might scare the fish away).

Epoxy epoxy epoxy is the way to go from what I have come to understand watching Maya & Aladino regards watertighting any fitting or fixture that penetrates/fastens through from learning about boat work over at sailing magic carpet, you wanna seal all that water out at every opportunity for good, from what I understand Alidino's preferred method is to saturate any absorbent material with Epoxy so that it soaks up the epoxy leaving no place for water to be absorbed, thus creating a waterproof sealed part/joint ect... Suppose its also situation dependent, whether or not the fitting, fixture or join needs to be flexible or not? You Wildlings have come so far so fast, almost gonna be time soon to have to refer to you "Wildlings" as not so 'Wild' but far more polished around the edges, since your no longer squeaky brand new novices any more.. Good on ya you amazing humans.. Happy Sialings ahoy !

When sealing through deck bolts and stuf like that , countersink the holes slightly and put the butyltape around the bolt . In that way you create a gasket around the bolt . I've done thousands of bolts that way , never a leaking one . I used to build fiberglass boats in the Netherlands . Have fun !

Not wanting to leave the "toy shop".. just like any toddler...😁 Leaks, nice work on repairing them looked relaxing sitting out on the upper deck sanding and paint with the water lapping against the hulls. I work at the local hospital by the way and every time it rains theres water leaking through the roof and on down through the ceiling into passageways and clinical areas even in the newer buildings. Bins and buckets here and cat hinges the drips and trickles...

You should look at Marina Garaf . Just past Barcelona. Very nice and friendly , not to exspensive, next to train station, only 15 minutes to airport. It also has a small boat yard. For me the safest marina in Barcelona.

Hi Mark. Saw yours re sealing of deck components. Just a thought in case it helps. If you space the components off the deck 1mm or so when sealing it gives you a decent chance of getting a reasonable gasket between part and deck. Then you can fully tighten down once cured. I find it avoids the situation where you tighten down on a

Favorite Winter Recipes: anything with squash; pumpkin, butternut, acorn, or whatever is locally available. Since squash will keep a long time if kept dry and cool it was a staple in American colonial winter cuisine. But it grows anywhere so use whatever you have there in Spain. Also it works well for both savory and sweet dishes.

Once it’s sealed it’ll rott inside to out from the moisture make sure to take out all rot when reusing existing wood clean it up reseal it you’ll be good jus no rot no moisture try baking it to dry it

Drill the holes out to a larger size, fill them in with epoxy then re-drill the smaller holes through the epoxy. I seem to have heard it mentioned on other channels that there should not be holes exposing the core.

In Florida when I was a kid I could catch mullet and sand perch on a small hook wrapped with moss from rocks, add a bobber about two foot from hook. Mullet are vegan fish they won't eat worms. Just wrap the stringy moss around the hook. Their mouths are small so you have to use a small hook.

my favorite winter food is biscuits and sausage gravy . a breakfast dish here. a million years ago at 2 am we had to go to the top of a mountain in the winter . the plan was to be off the mountain by noon. as you know plans don't always work out we got very very stuck in the deep snow. it was 24 hours on top of a mountain . before we left we had breakfast everyone else had steak and eggs , omelettes pancakes . we all had hypothermia by the time we got off the mountain everyone ran out of energy by 8am I was able to keep going because biscuits and gravy kept me full and going

Can I suggest a cheap diving belt with 3 or 4 weights to counter the buoyancy of the wetsuit? You will find it much easier to control where you are in the water. As has already been offered a line with a Hi-Vis float is also a useful safety point.
