Some of the Solognac clothing is great for the price. I just picked a merino wool baselayer for 12 quid. The most frustrating thing with decathlon is the sizing, some stuff fits perfectly and some comes up too small or massively too big and they’ll all be the same size. Just trial and error with what you can manage. Still superb for the money.

I live in France where we have decathlon everywhere. I buy nearly all my clothes there. And the solognac fixed blades are great. The steel is a bit soft but can be resharpened easily. The 90mm and 130mm are great but for the price of yours i prefer a real mora. The solognac folders cut great but the pivot needs tightening regularly. The edc bags in the hunting section are really great and cheap. Didn't know they had shops in the UK. Basically very good value gear. All price ranges but even the lowest range i have never had problems. That said, top quality costs top price as every where. If it is the same gear as in France i would recomend it to anyone. Especially novices who can start at less cost. Been wearing and using decathlon brand gear for over 20 yrs. Sorry to be a bit long. Good health and stay safe.

I do to, just wander and dream. Those cheap day packs in the hiking section are great too. I have several of the small and medium hunters edc pouches. They are great for fire kits, first aid kits, knife maintenance kits and personal hygiene kits. The foldable drop pouch meant for empty shells is great for collecting tinder. In the fishing section the springs for opening pike's mouthes make great pot and bottle hangers. I could go on for hours. Good health,stay safe.

Iv always found work clothes (specifically those used by building site labourers) to be particulaly hard wearing. I was fortunate enough to have been given a pair of workmans trousers and they pretty much became my every day wear when foraging or just general out and aboutery for a good few years till the flies decided to give out. mainly as they were so functional and pretty comfortable as well. Massive pockets on the knee area also that are technically supposed to be for knee protection. But equally make excelent storage.

This brand is seriously underrated, i bought a two people hammock in Decathlon for 40 bucks for my motocamping trips, still going strong 5 years later, that girl is bulletproof, i use it alone because two people hammocks are longer, angle is not that steep and the weight it can carry is insane, you can jump on a thing and it wont budge. I also bought a 200 dollar Snugpack strotsphere bivi bag thats supposedly water proof and ended up completely soaked inside in a very mild central european rain, i would have been better off sleeping in a garbage bag 🤣

It’s a great budget range. The only thing that puts me off their gear is that it’s all Polyester/ Nylon and sparks would melt holes in it. I’d be interested to know how breathable their trousers are. Overpricing is one thing but usability another. If Solognac made ventile gear, they’d sell out! Thanks for the video.
@Temporalplace

Not all , shirt that is on him is cotton, only padded shoulders polyester (but under that polyester is also cotton) . Solognac also sells 100% cotton pants and jackets, i bought for myself 100% cotton pants and shirts from them.

There's a problem with most of the survival knives with a handle full of stuff;weak blade.Never buy a knife that doesn't have a full length tang running all the way through the handle.They are breakable and the stuff they carry is mostly garbage. I like the clothes,they look like they are comfy.The colours are good too.Nice little video bro. Note; I can't do ketchup anymore as I must watch my sugar at my age and ketchup is full of it.And everyone civilized knows that House of Parliament [HP] sauce is best on sausages and eggs.It is well documented.lol

You look fantastic! Is Solognac renamed in the UK for Carhartt in the US? Love the cast iron pan with detachable handle. What kind of bacon is that? It looks like pork chops sliced super thin. The shirt is really nice. Very nice modeling, too. Carhartt has really nice pants that do not make so much noise but are water-resistant. Oh, My GAWD! I love the coat. I love this time of year and the weather. Did you feel a tickle when you poured the water on your pants? Hysterical. Boots and lining would be cozy. The trees blowing with the purple/gray sky was gorgeous. Outstanding description and modeling. It is easy to see that you really enjoy Solognac. You look so happy making the video. I have a couple of questions about the Decathlon gear you mention 1. Did you buy online or in store? the knives are hard to come by near me and clothing sizes are very approximate too. 2 the cotton shirt you mentioned is not suitable for hiking or wet weather as its cotton, as soon as its wet its had it, so do they do wool or synthetic shirts that you know of? The trousers looked good and the coat too! nice video, liked the pan and the stove cheers.

Hi, I actually got sent these by Solognac themselves but I have bought their stuff before both in a decathlon store and online (just bought some gloves / cat etc actually :) Ive seen them doing wicking t shirts.. I may actually have one but can't find it at the moment, Ive used it under a normal cotton shirt hiking before.. Ive put some links in the description field if you wanna have a look through, they do a LOT of stuff haha, thanks for watching

Thanks for this video Andy. I didn't know this brand of products. To my surprise there is a Decathlon store in Canada. On the Canadian website they have all the items you've showed in this video. Sadly it's a 2½ hour ride to get to the store for me. I hope they open a store here in Québec city. The prices are really nice. If anyone is interested, the store is in Brossard and here's the website : www.decathlon.ca/

Just bought 2 pairs of trousers one the thermal waterproofs and I more tapered cut. Love them both - just the right price 👍 thanks for sharing. Looking at one there hunting coats next for messing around in the woods. Only thing I would say the waterproof is s little noisy ? But great value for money.

haha, the waterproofs are not all that noisy to be honest, more like a hard wearing material than like the horrible waterproof over trousers I wear on hikes. I very nearly bought another of there jackets too.. ill wait and get a lighter weight one in the spring lol

Kent Survival Cheers Andy - yes they’ve got a great range of kit; I especially like their Renfort 900 hunting jacket which looks good for hiking at higher ground. Thanks for posting- really enjoyed the review. ATB Mark.
