The "U" shaped fire pit is a great Idea. I dont understand why more people dont use it . The food looked great . You make fire starting look so easy . Be safe .

Hi John, thanks for your kind response! Yes its really a easy way to keep you fire alive, of course is not for all circumstances, need a good airflow, the right wood and a area which is safe so you don't burn the forest, wish you all the best, Taro

did not disappoint friend. Always enjoy your overnight adventures, its nice to see you use a hooped bivvy, they are a bit awkward to get into and out of. i myself have a geertop plume 2 bivvy and its preferred for its high hydrostatic head and top and bottom ventilation meshes. Also its got a 3/4 length side entry :) temperature and ventilation regulation is a must to keep dry from condensation vapors. Can i ask though, if you were to do this wildcamp again friend but this time you didnt have a groundmat or airmatteress how could you improvise a warm and comfortable ground area:) any ideas will be greatly appreciated, the last time i went for a wildcmp i could feel my heat get sapped from my body in the points i were laying on, hip and shoulder. thanks again for the content friend please keep up the good work and il look forward to the next one. Greetings from Newcastle England

Many thanks for you response and your great support! Absolut agree with you about the Bivvy bag and condensation, your bivvy system with the side entry it great and make it so much more comfortable to get in and out, in this care I use the new RAB Ridge Raider and I'm very very satisfied, good Material and great performance! To build a good insulation to the ground is more important than a roof, without a matt I use leafs, pine or bruce brunches or spare clothing which i put under me, here in my old videos I show some options: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m5q0fGevnJWcsMk kzbin.info/www/bejne/p5ybmqyAZpyGnaM kzbin.info/www/bejne/q6rTep2Zn9GZiJY kzbin.info/www/bejne/b5qqqZx_qdergKM Regard to Newcastle from the heart of Switzerland, Taro

little information for the 2 of you. pulling wet or dry rocks from a stream is a MAJOR fire no no. reason, as the rocks are heated any water still in the rock will turn to steam. EXPLODING the rock into shrapnel. otherwise nice video.
@Taromovies
@Taromovies Жыл бұрын
thanks for watching and your response. Rocks don't explode because they draw water. If water really does get into a stone, it will come out the same way as steam when it is heated and this is certainly easier than it came in as a liquid. Stones explode due to different layers and their expansion when heated. Of course, this can also affect stones that come out of the cold water and are quickly heated. If you have the opportunity, you should use stones with a homogeneous structure. Of course, this is often not the case, so be careful when placing the stones and place them on the edge. it always happens that a stone tears but mostly that's not a problem. If a stone is heated too quickly and too hot due to its shape and layers, it can sometimes crack and spit ash and sparks into the air. But that has nothing to do with the water. Its a mythos, kind regards Taro 1

Great video by the way (just subscribed……edit……oh…I already subscribed before sometime!😁😂), I’m out in my Rab Raider bivi tonight for the first time, should get down to about 1°C- no snow unfortunately, we’re lucky if we get any by the coast in Lancashire, UK.☹️. Anyway, I was curious about you having taken the rocks for your fire out of the stream, I thought that was a big “no, no” because they had the potential to explode. Are they granite rocks or some other type that are impervious to water, and so are safe to use? I’m assuming, though don’t know for sure, that the dangerous ones are ones like sedimentary rocks, or perhaps volcanic that can absorb a certain amount of water that then expands and violently fractures the rock?
@Taromovies
@Taromovies Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching und your very kind response. Hope you have lots of good nights in you RAB Bivy. With the stones there is a big mistake and ignorance out there. I'll have to admit, your bacon and eggs looked better than mine that I fixed this morning! Your charcloth is some of the best when it comes to taking a spark! Where do you get your flint? I know it's found around Europe! In my younger days I used to search for arrow heads near my home, and ended up with a collection of about 100 full arrow and knife heads made of flint! They would be found in farmers fields after the ground was broken up before planting!
