What I use in my 10x15 tent is a coffee can half filled with Mt St Helens ash (we have billions of tons fm 1980 😊) Put a smaller can 2/3 buried in the ash. Stuff as much toilet paper as you can in it. Prob abt 2/3 roll. Soak the tp with 91% isopropyl alcohol ( under $3 a quart at Walmart. Light the paper and sit back. I'm currently sitting in a 10x14 cabin being heated nicely by this system

So i do the hammock camping: a tarp tent, a hammock with a ridge line, one very thick 600gram down feather underquilt, a a second under quilt for draft control, a top quilt of down and my llama wool poncho as a top quilt, and the self-made self-water prooved hammock bivuoac. Sack of camo i made. I have a wooden bar to spread the top quilt over the ridge line, and i have an UCO brass candle landern! I suspend it with a chain and it provides a lot of comforting heat.

I used to always use one of those 3 wick candles in a tin can with a lid to heat the inside of my simple aluminum canopy on my pickup. I would light it first in the morning and then would light a one mantle Coleman gas lantern. It would warm the inside enough to make getting out of my sleeping bag more pleasant on those 10 degree elk hunting mornings. Amazing how much heat is generated by a few small flames in a small space. Each of my vehicles’ winter emergency kits have them along with two lighters and matches. It’s hard for me to have much sympathy for those stranded on the road completely unprepared. Winter kits are a must. Your system here has obviously shown it is helpful but, I think it would benefit from some tweaking. Still though, it made measurable results in warming a small area.

@@Taromovies danke! Welches soll ich nehmen wenn ich kein Beil oder Säge mitnehme? Also das ich es auch zum Batonen brauchen kann? Liebe grüsse aus basilea
@Taromovies4 күн бұрын

are you daft? 10 degree's celcius is 50 degree's fahrenheit. BUT. a diffrence of 10 degree's celcius IS NOT THE SAME as a diffrence of 50 degree's fahrenheit. a diffrence of 10 degree's celcius. is a diffrence of 18 degree's fahrenheit. it's 1.8 degree's farenheit for every degree celcius. (zero degree's fahrenheit is not at the same temperature as zero degree's celcius) (there is a diffrence between absolute and incremental.) 0 degree's celcius absolute is 32 degree's fahrenheit. 10 degree's celcius absolute is 50 degree's fahrenheit. 20 degree's celcius absolute is 68 degree's fahrenheit. 30 degree's celcius absolute is. 86 degree's fahrenheit excetra. 1=33.8 2=35.6 3=37.4 4=39.2 well you get the point now.

The heat dissipated by the tent is still exactly the same. Heat rises just the same. Candles burn for the same amount of time. There is no thermal benefit to this. What you might get is a wax deposit from the soot building up and flashing over, which will really warm the place up.

Will the heat produced from cooking methamphetamine be sufficient for warming a tent?
@Clarky484812 күн бұрын
Can it be done with freshly harvested mushrooms or do you have to wait several days for it to dry?
@David-p9y9c15 күн бұрын
Don’t use river stones, they’ve absorbed water, if overheated they’ll burst, showering your tent with hot fragments.

For anyone who wishes to use them and pay the extra price, beeswax burns a lot hotter than paraffin and many other types of wax candles. I'm heating my room with two 5 hour beeswax tealights right now in Western North Carolina. ------------- I lit them (in stone tealight holders) around the time I began watching this video and it just finished. I have a curtain across the middle of a room (maybe 25+ ft x 15 ft, with a window open a bit) and I'm in my sleeping area there. Outside the room's curtain it's about 63° F. It's now 68° plus where I sit about 3 ft from my tea lights. The house here is old and doesn't have great insulation, and has drafts. It feels extremely cozy now. I have heated a 13 ft x 16 ft room (with a lot of thermal mass in it) with two little beeswax pillar (?) candles as skinny as the base of a tapered dining candle, for many hours and days in the past. ❤ to all... I greatly enjoyed this video and presentation! Subscribed.

I live in the Smokey Mountains and I have been into the wilderness and ir below zero F many times and I like to light a couple cans of sterno in my tent a hour before turning in just to knock the freeze off , then I cap them off and turn in to a bag that is good down to 20 below. I am in my 60's and have never had vented or direct heat in my bedroom in the winter and it gets down to freezing but we warm the bed with a heating pad or blanket before getting into the bed and cutting it off. Sad to say that nature will call but I usually find my bedding still warm when I get back from business. Sleeping in cold weather is no problem , hot weather is another story.

If I can make a recommendation, I'd put another lid or something over the rocks to help them retain heat better when warming them up, then remove the lid when you're ready to sleep to radiate the heat.
