I think I just figured out that the reason Monty is so calm most of the time is because he is always listening to you talk. Of course - he thinks you are always talking to him, because there is no one else there and you use his name a lot. Monty may be the best listener on the planet.

monte thinks he's crazy but loves him just the same. he looks at the camera like "dude, there's no one there" or "here we go again, he's talking to no1 again lol" maybe, the dog sees things we don't and assumes that is who he's talking too... what if?? these things Monty sees are gathered in a circle listening in, and Monty can see the whole show?? whose to say there is nothing beyond the perceivable spectrums.

You need a sled to bring in all your survival stuff. Then later you could use it to transport your timber. Less trips back and forth saving time you could use to work on your camp and other things.

When I was in the Army we called our sleeping bags fart sacks. When we were in the field for gunnery (M1A1 Tanks), we would stay in a large bay type building. On occasion we would stay in a tent with a mogas heater. In the mornings, when we woke up, it would be rather ripe when morning rolled around and everyone opened up their sleeping bags at the same time.

Monty is so much like my dear dog, Meg. She passed away a few years ago now from old age - and she was quite simply - the best girl in the world. She had a litters of the most beautiful, perfect pups and I found great homes for them. Then she was spayed. Not one day goes by that I don't think of her... God Bless 💕

I have been binge-watching your channel for a week! I never thought I would enjoy somebody just being out in nature, however, I just can't stop watching! I just love how you play with your dogs, how you treat them as an equal, even more than equal! They're so well-behaved :) I think what you're doing is fabulous :-) I am going to keep watching and if I'm ever stuck in nature, I will know how to build a shelter 💃

A camp fire or just a fire pit makes food tast so much better when you are cooking food over a fire because of the smoke flavor that the fire gives it

Matthew I think you need to get a Dutch oven. Start the fire earlier put all ingredients and then work on the camp,and let the cooking to do it self. Just saying but it looks absolutely fabulous. And I love the fact you’re having fun. That’s what getting out is all about!🤣😂😁😜🤙

I do like the cooking section of these videos. I love cooking outdoors over a fire. But recently I got jealous of what Monty was having, so I fried up an onion, and orange pepper, added garlic and venison chunks and fried it down, blanched the sweet potato for a few minutes then added it to the frying pan with some stock and finished it off. (Left out the dog food) added a touch of salt (not too much) a pinch of paprika and called it "The Full Monty"
