What a beauty day. My son's snowmobile is much like Andrews. No track, no windshield. Go fast, get cold, get stuck. Wait for dad to pull you out and wait for dad to carry all supplies. I glad to see I am not the only one. Wouldn't change a thing. So great.

We certainly enjoy your videos. And was interested to see the spring. Here in L'Anse Au Clair, on the south coast of Labrador, we have a similar one that we call Bubbling Sands. As kids we were told it was bottomless and warned to stay away. Foundation of Youth you say? I think I'll go for a drink!

A nice trip , great idea for the stove pad , i've only ever found single bubble springs pretty cool to see 4 and that is a nice stove , and I picked up the canoe cb I was surprised how heavy it is
@ChuckPorterEverythingOutdoors
@ChuckPorterEverythingOutdoors 4 жыл бұрын
The model I have is a touch heavier than my other stoves, however, I always have it towing behind my snowmobile so a few extra pounds doesn't really matter. The convenience from using it certainly makes up for the extra 8-10 lbs👍👍

You’re absolutely right Elwood. I had enough supplies for two nights but the snow melt came in so fast it was almost scary. Chuck, my wife's grandparents had a log cottage built on a lake in the Laurentians north of Montreal in 1939. The lake is spring fed with absolute crystal clear water. Lake trout can be caught 50 yds. from the wharf. In 6 ft. of H20 you can dive down, feel and see the cold water vents gently shifting the sand granules on the bottom. In twenty ft. of H20 you can feel the cold on the surface as you swim into it. WAKE YOU RIGHT UP ! Keep well. Keeep safe, you and yours.

Hello. I live in Northern Norway and enjoy your tour movies. What you experience out in nature is very similar to what we do on the weekends (especially in winter). I am a family man who likes to go on trips to find some peace and at the same time be able to reap some of what nature can give us. Hope you continue to go on tour for many years, film and give good advice to us who follow you :-) Regards. Jøran Hansen, Northern Norway

No I’m beginning to think we don’t have enough birch here to have gathered the spores etc. I’m not exaggerating when I say I’ve looked at thousands of trees and haven’t found one square inch. Hello Chuck, very nice video, with a beautiful landscape. I think it's better if you add a third trailer and take a standard-sized bed for your long-haired supervisor. You are killing me Chuck. That was an awesome way to spend a couple days. There was nothing I enjoyed more at this time in the season than to go explore on a good hard crust, especially early morning, and sneak in and out of spots that were otherwise beyond our reach due to snow depth. I always found spring to be the best time to explore trails and the warm evening sun made it all the better. Few rides left in Lab West yet! Great find on that fountain of youth. Have never seen such a thing before. Near Buchans for a lot of years there have been abandoned diamond drill sites where the casing is left in the ground. I recall one in particular with an approx 3 inch pipe sticking a couple feet above ground and there is a steady stream of water rising from who knows how deep. That was the coolest water you could ever drink in summer and was always easy access all winter. Your video reminded me of that.

Hi Chuck, greetings from Willow, Alaska. This was a really nice video, the kind I like to watch. I bought an Eskimo tent a couple years back and turned it into a hot tent. This is the ultimate camping tent other than a Wall tent. I love your dog, what breed dog is he? I live off grid and I have a remote cabin that I travel to in Winter, takes 2 1/2 hrs. by snowmachine and 25 min. by floatplane, amazing, eh? I still have lots of snow here right now but, it's melting fast each sunny day. Take care and thanks for sharing. Oh yeah, that Spring? Doesn't get any better.

You referring to the Kelly Kettle? If so, I've beat that thing around a few years and love it for very quick boilups (I have the stainless steel one as opposed to the aluminum). Love this! Are you near the Smallwood Reservoir? Just wondering what LAKE I'm looking at.... Love your videos! Love that "Fountain of Youth" there Chuck! Down at my camp in Guysborough County here in Nova Scotia I rely on a spring like this one but it doesn't "bubble" as much as this. Great find there buddy! Watch those bears! 🤗

The lake isn’t real close to the Smallwood reservoir (although I spend a lot of time around that area). This video was shot within 10 kms of my cabin. I love to spend some time exploring close to my cabin and enjoy that just as much as being 100 miles away. Love guysborough!!! ❤️

I'm just watching you drink from a natural spring and have watched you drink from lakes and streams here in Alaska. we have to be careful of beaver feaver . Do you have any problem with it?
@ChuckPorterEverythingOutdoors
@ChuckPorterEverythingOutdoors 14 күн бұрын
Generally speaking we don’t. The beaver population isn’t really that high in these parts. Plus, in most areas i frequent, I know where their houses are. And maybe there’s a bit of luck thrown in there as well.

I like the setup for the saw. Is that rack custom made? Trying to figure out a way to mount mine... I have the same skidoo btw. Was thinking of building a box and then just mounting my bar cover to it with screws and then just secure with bungee but not so clean as that . Nice videos man cheers

I live in Michigan and last week a lady's dog was attacked in northern part of the state, she was able to get the dog to the vet hospital in time to save it,the bear was coming towards her as she was putting the dog in her pickup,big one she said.

Always a chance for sure Walt, albeit very, very rare. You only hear about those moments and not about the hundreds of occasions where the bear simply walks away. In the meanime, all animals needed to be treated with a respectful fear👍

Do you use the articulating rear skid on your Skandic? Seems like it dug down a fair amount in reverse.
@ChuckPorterEverythingOutdoors
@ChuckPorterEverythingOutdoors 2 жыл бұрын
Yes I do. It’s just that our snow is so powdery here it’s common for it to sink down in reverse. Plus I carry a fair bit of equipment in my cargo box, which tends to make it sink more as well
@gyates93
@gyates93 2 жыл бұрын
@@ChuckPorterEverythingOutdoors I guess you can only expect so much from a snow machine in reverse! I just purchased an Expedition 1200 with the 154 x 20 inch articulating track so I'm excited to see how it performs.

One question----How come you buy all of that extra equipment to lay on top of the snow for the shove? You are on land and shovel out the snow from inside your tent. Then lay down your covers and pine limbs on the land for comfort?? Nevermind, I see that snow is really deep when you stuck those limbs into the snow. I understand now!! Thank you for your videos!! I really like them and get a lot of info from you!!!
@ChuckPorterEverythingOutdoors
@ChuckPorterEverythingOutdoors 4 жыл бұрын
No problem Kevin. And I’m glad you observed the depth of our snow. We get an average of 14 feet per year so it’s virtually impossible to shovel out for camping. Tks for tuning in👍

That water looked good from my couch , I would be bottling it up for home ! Few questions .... does the snow ever leave 😂. And that’s a lot of snow still for end of April , it’s this a Normal winter ? Also do you need to wear helmets on sleds there ( just wondering of course ) or up to the person ? Also wondering why you don’t have a Grohmann knife from your visits to NS ! Another great video as always .
@ChuckPorterEverythingOutdoors
@ChuckPorterEverythingOutdoors 4 жыл бұрын
Haha...still a bit of snow but it's normal to have it until usually the third week of May or so. It goes real fast once it starts. It is not a legal requirement to wear helmets on snowmobiles here in NL. We do wear them however in high traffic areas like the groomed snowmobile trail system. And I don't own a Grohmann but I hope to someday!!👍👍
