Thank you so much for making these little glimpses into your lives. I appreciate them on an entertainment level as a wonderful escapism from my reality, but also on a craftmanship/creative level because I can always see the consideration you put into your filmmaking and editing and it's very inspiring!

You guys were the first nomads that I found and have followed and my favorites by a mile. You guys are so open, yet so respectful. Thank you for not shoving non-nomad opinions down my throat. I also like that if someone is being douche-y in the comments, you are cool about it and never douche-y back. That shows an inner peace & maturity that some people twice your age haven't achieved. Bravo! I love your adventures and your insights. I love watching your love language with each other and how you read each other. Even the simplest things, like Elsa, you telling Barron, "you go", meaning to take his bite first. I love your winter adventures, like everyone else does, but wouldn't mind a totally different setting for next winter. Oh! Maybe you will have land by then! Anyway, you guys are the best and I love your channel ❤

I spent years talking with friends about how we would much rather live in our own community. I've found a lot of people who agree that they too struggle in the way most of society is structured and also long for a more secluded and supportive environment. This feeling is tenfold this past year.

It's TRUE, though. I worked at a pizza place in Nederland, CO and when we'd step outside for smoke breaks, we wouldn't bother to grab our jackets. Often it was single-digit temps, or in the teens. It just starts to feel kind of GOOD after a while! (Maybe not for Elsa, though. Reynaud's seems very painful.)

Cold camping -can't get enough!! Your way is amazing. Love the beading; I have 93-year old friend has done it all her life, beautiful lids for the baskets she weaves. A thought on the earrings - mis-match is OK, just like socks! Or use somewhat same colors on 2nd earring, but go different pattern. I never do the same thing 2ce either, too boring. Dog is studying your eating habits very closely. Thanks for sharing your excellent adventures!

Yea Mountain Lions are no Joke! We had one come into our camp early spring this year and sneak up to the back of us while we were sitting by the fire. Thankfully my partner saw something moving toward us in the dark out of the corner of his eye and we got big and yelled and backed ourselves up and into our camper. It stayed and slept on the edge of our camp in the forest line for most of the evening. We had to report it to the ranger!

Another exceptional video. The first video that I stumbled upon, about a year ago, was the one where Elsa says, " I didn't know people could be so nice, when the wood was gifted to you." That touched my heart. And Barron was driving the Subi through some deep snow. I was driving with him. Fun stuff. And he swore a little.😉🍻 I knew you guys were cool. Take care and keep on keepin on.

Community is something that we all seek and that we all need. At the same time, there are those who choose to distance and like the solitude yet as is true with human nature; when you are told that you can't and that you shouldn't, it's a different story. There IS a difference between choice and being told that's the way it has to be. My wife and I have become accustomed to the solitude because of her health and limitations. That being said, being told that she can't has played a lot on her depression and mood. Funny how the human psyche works in general.

It’s so weird to hear people talk about a company I watched burn. I grew up driving by the Scamp “factory”, went to school with the owners kids, and know people who work there. So cool to see them get used like this, as growing up it was just so normal to see them.

10:30 , after Kamp’s cozy-sigh , that’d be a really , really great still to print and frame . Winter gift ideas for the in-laws ? Which , BTW , what groovers they are ! Each one of them . Really likable people . Not to sound smarmy but , I’m certain-sure that they all deeply appreciate the huge and rare fortune , (with a few weather and creepy-human worries once in a while) , it is to be chill in knowing how well you look after one another . How safe you keep each other and 4-legged boyhood 🐾 , Kamp San . How much flipping fun you all have . And that you don’t just love each other , you genuinely like each other . That’s gotta be like winning the all’s-very-well adult children lottery . Ok , this IS smarmy but , there’s the corny but true bit about ‘gaining a son/daughter’ .

Elsa-as artistic as you are, do you paint or draw the beautiful places you stay in? I love the spots you park in- I’m a painter and would love to paint where you are. I think it would be a perfect thing to keep you busy and so many people would pay for ink sketches with watercolor washes. Not a lot of stuff to keep in the Skamp and you could sketch anywhere. I’d be happy to send you paint and paper to get started.

Going from memories.... I think that the creosote remover is mostly salt. It will rust out your stove. Careful. Looks like your current stove pipe cap has also about had it. From living on a small boat, heated with wood for many years I found the best stove pipe cap was a piece of sheet metal cut to a circle the size of the large end of a 5 gallon bucket. Fold it into an upside down "U" shape and drill two holes (1/4") for bolts on each side and holes in corresponding holes in top of stove pipe. Install pipe back on stove with the upside down "U" shape aimed in the wind direction ... the cap could be tilted to "suck" out smoke in a breeze or left level if wind is variable. It will keep the rain out and will help to keep stove from back drafting smoke. Good luck.

@lisacolbert59873 жыл бұрын
@@CharlezMalasana Curious what you’d think of the Homesaver 4” Windbeater stainless stovepipe cap ? Reading the stats , it looks like it could be a fix for them - only thing , it looked hard to clean if you hadn’t gotten a handle on the creosote quite yet . IDK . Or were you thinking of one of those that remind me of a nun’s bonnet that rotates against the wind (in a good way) ? Maybe they’ve already remedied the issues . Was asking on my own account as well so , thanks in advance for your reply 😉
@lisacolbert59873 жыл бұрын
I thought so too . Went back to their stove install video and that 4” pipe is double-walled and the inner ‘sleeve’ is “male” , while the outer is “female” . I kept thinking , “They wouldn’t make a mistake like that ! They’re too sharp” .

Looking at your stovepipe. The funnel looking thing I think is supposed to go the other way and closer to the roof to stop rain from running down the pipe and getting inside. So rain down collect in it but rather drips off the edge away from the hole in your roof.
