Winter CARP FISHING - January 2023

This month we take a look at my fishing on a big fish water close to the city of Lincoln. The winter syndicate started on the 1st December 2022 and runs through until the end of March 2023. I talk you through my approach for the 30-acre venue as well as the mindset needed for tricky lakes at this time of the year. Featured in the film is a lovely carp of 42lb which I caught during the first week of January 2023.

Great result for the effort Simon 👏👏 Fishing through the winter for the first time myself this year, one fish will do me as you say to make it worthwhile. Only thing wrong with this video is the milk being in with the tea bag before the water goes in, crazy. Good video mate, thanks 👍

In Poland, the end of the year and the beginning of the new one were surprisingly warm. I tried several times... I tried :) Now the water is frozen again. But when the ice breaks I'm back in the game :)

Banger mate well in, can I ask how you got around the 30 wraps without a braided hooklink tangling I love the braid rig but at that range I’d struggle with believing it’s not tangled

Hit the clip mate, that straightens the link out. We did the underwater tests years ago (me & Rob Hughes) and it always sorts it out 👍 If you drill it in hard and don’t hit the clip, that’s when it tangles
