Hi there, Bassman! Good to see you fishing a spot that I used to fish when I was a lad. The spot that you're fishing on is known locally as "King Bill", because of William of Orange's statue which is just inside the dockyard wall there. It's a great spot for monster conger...we used to catch 'em years ago and my mate and his family used to eat them. An even better spot for really big conger is on the "T' pier as you call it, on the west end, facing King Bill. You'll find you'll get some really big conger there...cast out around forty-five degrees to your left. That's where we used to fish for them...using whole mackerel as bait during the night, with only a wheezing old Tilly Lamp for light...lol.
