That really is pretty countryside, considering it still looks nice in the wet & grey! I've not watched it all yet, but I'm thinking the little hut is a warming hut / restplace if the lock keepers house is at the other end of the set of locks. It would make sense to have a spot to get out of the weather and rest / cook a meal when you have to spend time so far from the house doing 15 locks... maybe an assistant or one of the children manned this section for the keeper and would stay there waiting for boats coming your direction? Small fireplace to warm and cook and room for chairs / benches and a small table etc. Dunno, but I'm going to imagine that's what it was for!

Bindge watch part 3 done. Love watching vlogs, although I do have to go outside for my vitamin D and tend the veg patch time to time 😆. Watching as I do I think of a question but then a few vlogs later maybe the answer appears, love drone work and presentation. I must say that my late mom would have be a fan of Frans Crafting skills, as she was an avid crafter also. 👍

As you know I discovered you guys via Mark and Debbie earlier this year and I watched your back catalouge during lockdown and I have thoroughly your journey. I had major work issues during the year and for the first time ever I had to have time off due to stress. Your vlogs were a great help. As a result I 'left' my company after over 26 years of service. I am just working out my future but still have you guys with me as I listened to your latest Podcast on my way to work. Like many others I already feel you are my friends even though we have never met. I hope you had a safe soltice and hope you have a peaceful Christmas and happy new year. I like Bovril but never tried Marmite as a hot drink - assume it’s not much different? We (my partner, Cathy, and I) picked up on your channel (and those of a certain Mr Vobes!) while I was on furlough earlier this year. Your carefree (well, mostly!) lifestyle made us realise there’s more to life than long working hours and staring at a computer screen so, partly thanks to you, I’ve recently retired and Cathy has resigned from her job!
