You need a dampner in your flu so you can control the air flow and it will keep the smoke from infiltrating your trailer. With a dampner, you can adjust it at night before you go to bed and it will stoke your fire to make it burn at a lower temp but last longer. You can check KZbin videos about how to install a dampner in your flu and how to adjust it.

Barron looked so comfy and peaceful when you caught him on video sleeping. Dang but I'm so jealous. Comfy and Cozy sure does seem appealing in that thar Scampy Trailer ! You kids{sorry I'm 57 yrs young} got the idea of living to BE Free. I'm very much respectful of your life choices. You 2 Got it MADE in tha Shade !!!!!!!!..I mean what else could you want or need ? You got each other, and you both are Peaceful - Content and most importantly Joyfully ---> FREE

I’ve been binge watching your videos, and I admire your essential only lifestyle. I am from West Virginia and always dreamed about a simple off grid lifestyle. I know my husband of 16 years would never go for it, but I dream :)

Here’s an idea. Put a Scamp, small camper, or little shed type cabin, like a storage building in your backyard. No cheating now. Go live in it for several months. Try a composting toilet, get a mini stove, and use solar as you are able with lithium storage cells and a cooler for your food. Essentially go off grid right there. No coming in the house using the bathroom and you are responsible for the wood, keeping the fire going, cleaning the stove, emptying and cleaning the toilet. Also no hook up to your house water like Isabel Paige does. Go get water and keep in containers. Need to wash your hair, take a shower? Figure out how to do it there. This experiment if honestly done will reveal how well you would adapt to this lifestyle. It might be great or not. I too am from WV but live in a cabin deep in the mountains. I am not off grid in any pure sense but am lucky enough to have proximity to electric even though it goes off at times. Yes, I have a good generator. I have a well, a septic system and everything I can have with electric grid power. My place is small, well built and greatly insulated so my electric bills are pretty small even though I heat with it. Yep, no wood burning stove either. You will have some of the electric convenances with the solar and power packs like Elsa & Barron have. Watch Kyles Cabin too. He and Cierra are in MI and totally off grid. It’s a healthy discussion and venture but not for all. I also have a little Wolf Pup camper that I can go and be completely off grid in when traveling and camping too. Great fun! The big benefit I see in off grid or a modified version you come up with is the feeling of being conservative with resources and the independence seeing and living in beautiful scenery. Also check out Girl in the Woods and her husbands channel Bush Radical. I think Elsa & Barron’s channel is excellent, informative and enjoyable to watch. They are an amazing and often very funny couple. Kamp is the true star though as an amazing dog, especially when he “comments” in a video like the day in the life one. Sorry for the long text but was in the mood to share ideas. A very best day to you and yours!

I am impressed with the living in a trailer thing . I I wouldn’t want to do it . I love living indoors with heat and a bathroom . But I live in the mountains so I get the best of both worlds.

When I was a kid, my Dad would always make this ramen meal for us on Saturdays, and my siblings and I always loved it! To this day, it’s one of my “traditional” comfort foods of home. He would make a big pot of ramen, and then prepare a bunch of items for each of us to put on top, as much or little of each as one wished. There was grated cheddar, sliced green onions, sliced hard-boiled eggs, and some chopped up sandwich meat. I think Dad mostly used the chicken flavor ramen, but I prefer to make it with the oriental flavored one. Another interesting way to enjoy ramen is the backpackers favorite: the ramen bomb, made by combining a package of ramen with one of those 4-ounce packages of mashed potatoes (usually Idahoan brand) and some chopped up spam. I’ve mixed the potatoes and noodles together and eaten it, but like my husband says, it’s really weird and a bit reminiscent of having long worms in the potatoes, so it’s not the most visually appealing, but sure tastes good! Oh, and the ramen bomb is very solid, because you add the potato flakes to the ramen and its broth, but you don’t include extra water for the potatoes, so it gets pretty dense!

Hey guys, you asked if anyone thought the traditional were bad for you, if you google that, you will see that they are fried noodles, re-hydrated with cottonseed oil, bad for cholesterol. That was the first thought I had when watching you cook them :) That everything you eat is so wonderfully nutritious for you, but those noodles. That's good you switched though! Good choice of noodles now. Rice might be a good alternative? You can get wheat rice, soak it overnight, cook it about the same time as noodles it will just be alidenta :) This is the 4th video I have watched from you guys. Keep up the healthy living. MIchelle

Idea, get a copper radiator from a computer cooling system and fill it with Gallium Aluminum alloy. Then get a low voltage heat fan and draw heated air from the wood stove through the radiator. The alloy will absorb the heat and conduct it a lot longer then the simple wood stove alone. 😊
