Glad to see that you became a Fusso Coat advocate overcoming the issues you had on the first video. If paintwork is well prepped and maintenance washes are kept in check, you'll see fusso lasting 1 year+ on a daily driver, at least that's the case in the North of England.

I still swear by Fusso Coat + BSD as a topper. Just polished my daily driver after 18,000 miles in the UK (around 18 months) of first applying Fusso to a prepped paint and using BSD as a drying aid diluted. I wash the car at least once a week. Chemical decom 4 times in that time. Car had just a few swrils, ZERO need for claying. Just used Auto Fanatic Secret Weapon (DA with orange pad) to clean the paint and car was ready for a new coat of Fusso Coat. At this rate, my 200 grams can will last 10 years! 😊

Thanks for all the detailing tips, AF. I followed your winter detailing tips last winter with perfect results. Even after many road trips last winter on salt covered highways my cars paint remained like new! I may have to stick will the Collinite winter wax, my garage isn’t warm enough for the Fusso wax but I think I’ll pick up a can just in case I get a warm day to try it.

the 476S works great but during rough winters I advise maybe applying it 2- 3 times per winter season and following my decon steps here of clay, Secret Weapon, Gyeon Prep and 476 just to make sure its doing its job.

Auto Fanatic - Yes, I usually wax my cars every two to three months, with a quick detail after every wash. But I’ve got to tell you, I just used your Secret Weapon car wax and it is amazing stuff! I used it as a base coat for the Collinite. But after I did the hood, the shine and reflection I got, even in the garage is nothing short of incredible! This is my favorite wax! Thanks!

Great video , definitely spot on with the temperature having to be at a certain level to work with fusso coat. It is harder to use and take off but the self cleaning properties and protection are far beyond most hand waxes. Which makes it a great sacrificial winter protection layer for your vehicle. Can’t wait for the next video and as always great content .

Yep the Fusso is not a show car wax but for this application its the perfect solution and the reason I prefer using this over a ceramic coating is because daily driving cars things happen, objects hit paint, road debris or getting behind a salt truck so if you ever need to correct any panel its super easy with a wax.

Thanks for the winter prep tips. Our winters in the Carolinas are pretty mild and what works for the summer also works well in the winter. We are usually only a week or two away from a day in the mid 60’s. However, A couple times a year they brine the roads so I am very interested in how you wash / desalt the underside of the car, wheel wells, etc. Especially the felt like finished, sound absorbing, materials they now use on the underside of higher end cars like AR, Audi, BMW, etc.

Clay bar line pro meguiar's C2000 & C2100, for me the best clay bar with 3m perfect it lll also ! 👍 👍 I like to use them with the meguiar's M34 final inspection. Which then improves the work of ipa (carpro eraser for me), because M34 pro line meguiar's is silicone free, where hydrophobic polymer, which could hinder the installation of a ceramic treatment (or others) . So if by mistake we forget a place with the ipa, thanks to M34 is not that awkward 😊

Thanks for going through the steps and making key points of things to watch for in your preparation. I totally agree and experienced the same that if proper preparation is not achieved you will not obtain maximum potency of any product. I don’t know if anyone has asked or if you have tried the Jescar Power Lock Plus sealant yet? I just purchased some for my new GT350 and other cars I do for folks. Ive seen a lot of reviews and people using it with excellent shine, durability, and longevity. Apex did a video comparing it to other sealants and hands down outperformed the completion.

that stuff you bought is just a thick emulsified silicone that will ruin the towels you use to remove it. heavy silicones cause too much filling of the surface which I never liked.it works well but not fun to use I honestly hate that stuff and always have. there are much nicer products to use on the market these days.

So, in summation when applying Fusso Coat it is paramount to ensure the temperature of the panel is approximately 65 degrees as well as you must use the sealant very sparingly (i.e. one quarter turn twist clockwise and one quarter turn twist counter clockwise) let it come to a haze and remove with a towel designed specifically for wax removal..........correct? Also, if dusting does occur do you recommend perhaps lightly spraying the panel with a quick detail spray and then wiping up the residue? Dusting is my biggest concern when using Fusso coat and therefore your input is greatly appreciated!! By the way, I am not a professional detailer but rather just some guy who likes to play “weekend warrior”
@autofanaticcars
@autofanaticcars 4 жыл бұрын
the dusting comes from how you apply it with your start and stop of the wax applicator, the higher spots will dust ever so slightly. if you use the PFM towels like I suggest you won't have any worries even on black paint. Sometimes I use my 007 Gloss Enhancer if I miss a few spots on the wipe down

Phil, thanks for these great videos. Just winter prepped a brand new Toyota Highlander. Wash, clay, griots perfecting cream and a coat of Fusso 99. Forgot to use my gyeon prep before wax. Hope that doesn’t effect performance. The Highlander comes stock with a protective film on the bumpers from the factory. Any knowledge you can share of how to prep and protect those areas would be awesome. I’m not sure fusso is the best to put on that film, but I suspect your secret weapon is safe and would only require one step. Top it w 007? Thanks for your contributions to the auto world!

When you clay a panel, do you fold over the piece of clay at least once for that one panel, or do you only fold over the piece of clay when you move to next panel?
@autofanaticcars
@autofanaticcars 4 жыл бұрын
ok here is what I do, if you become stingy on the clay you will scratch and mar the paint. I take a piece as shown and il do 1 panel with it, fold it a few times as i hear and feel any resistance. then i get another piece and move on to another panel, larger panels il use 2 pieces, smaller panels 1 piece can do 2 panels or move depending on how bad they are contaminated. usually when i do clay a full size car i will use 1/2 to 3/4 of the bar of clay just to be safe.

after my video last time I really spent so much more time testing and finally found a fool proof way to use it, the temp of the panel is so critical to this product and the protection it offers is unreal compared to any other wax or sealant I ever tested. order Secret Weapon soon there are less than a dozen bottles left and no more stock. You can try fusso over a glaze but this is what bothers me, so many guys on social media talk about stacking products but I feel this is bs because the heavy solvents of some products will reactivate the lower layer and just remove it so to me stacking may work only with compatible products based on the raw ingredients.

Hmmmm no need for iron removers or decon soaps…I only iron remove after clay bar. The clay bar can shear off the tops of the ferrous iron deposits, but it will not remove them. The shards have to be melted with thyoglycolic acid and pressure washed from the membrane of clear coat. A “decon” is just a strong alkaline or strong basic soap solution. When you’re going to prep a car for wax, there’s no reason not to use it. Sure there’s a lot to consider but stop overthinking 😅 chemical engineers know mountains more than either you or I and they ensure the products work before they go to market or they waste millions on shipping, marketing and development. A decon soap & iron remover won’t hurt your paint 🤪 Your alternative is a “pH neutral” soap which is the biggest gimmick in car care. If it’s pH neutral, it has the least cleaning potential possible and you probably paid $25 for a gallon of blue foo foo juice. Waste of money, waste of time considering your goal is to remove dirt from the car. Marketing gimmick 101, pH neutral is dumb.
